Quality of Recent Avails Increasing?

I'm seeing ever increasing quality over the past 12 months in the .com and .net names getting passed up by catchers and tasters. Some .coms that are taken in all major extensions.

I guess more and more domainers are letting their lower quality names drop and fewer people grabbing them. There are for example LLLL.nets that would never see the light of day available for hand reg. 12 year-old .coms with backlinks.

For the first time in a long time it's getting EASIER to find revenue makers from the recent avails (5 day window). Anyone else seeing this?

Part of this maybe accredited to the fact that the tasting fee was raised which while not a big issue for someone who might grab a few domians, but if you are tasting on a big scale it adds up. I read recently that tasting was down about 85% (not sure where I saw it though)

If would reason, that with better mainstream TLDs (com,net,org) dropping and a flood of new extensions hitting the market (aka dilution), we could be entering a .com Renaissance period.

Yes It probably is a good time to buy now, it is also effected with the world economy been up & down etc...

Ah I was wondering in what way does domain names have to do with 'renaissance'.

Don't most domainers already know the importance of .com?
