Hey Guys,
I've been looking at this forum and other forums as well as Sedo, Bodis, GoDaddy auctions, AfterNic, DN Journal, etc.. to see what kind of domain names are getting sold or bid on. Most of the domain names I see just surprise me. I have no idea how some of these domains are getting bids and sold.
I'm looking at Google Trends and other market trend sites but most of the trends I see relate to people and products (both of which are probably trademarked most of the time). I still see people reg domain names with the same name of a certain new company that just went live or a new app that just went live (mostly .net which the company buys from them). A lot of domains which I see have gone for thousands have less than 50 searches per month, relatively new or fresh reg site, no PR really, not even pronounceable. Can't think of many but here's a couple:
travel-pirates.com (even with a hyphen)
backyard-stuff.com
hehuoren.com
iphone6.com (wouldn't that be trademarked?)
How do you guys find the quality domains which end users will actually want to buy?
