First of all hello! I am new here and ithe forum has been a tremendous help.

Ipower offers domains for 2.95. My question is do they register it in my name or does the whois info show up as they are the owners? I have heard that some cheaper domain hosting services have done this. I don't want to be trapped. Has anyone used them to register domains? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

please!^

Well you will be the owner of the domain if that is what you want (unless you purchase privacy... then they will register it in their name when displayed in the whois info).

However, prices aren't everything... iPower is not very popular among domainers because of their poor service. The only good thing is the price.

Bad Service

I have personally used Ipower and their service really sux. For one i registered the domain it was still marked as available in whois records for an entire week. I dont believe they secure the domains that instance. 2.95 is cheap but you cannot change the ns server, rather you have to update the MX records with static IPs. The sales reps call your whois number and try to sell you webhosting. I will never use ipower domains again. Stick with 1and1 or godaddy

I have around 50 domains registered with them. It takes anywhere beetween 2 hours to 5 days to get a domain registered :(
