Maybe the name is already taken? Or their servers might be really busy.

I had this happen to me too and it took a day or two to get straightened out, but I got the domain name anyway. I'm not sure what causes this, and the guy at GoDaddy didn't seem to know either. It does seem to happen on the country TLD's though. Mine was a .ws one. It's possible it's a function of the registrar system being down at the time they submit it and it has to be resubmitted.

I'll send an email to GoDaddys support team then, lets see if they know the problem :p.

The name was probably just showing as available but already reg'd...
I have had this happen quite a bit lately....CCtld's only...
Some got reg'd for me & others were already reg'd...not usually any conspiracy or nefarious activity....

I checked the whois just after I got the email saying it failed, and it said the domain was available. Unless the whois hadn't updated :|

Just went through the same thing with some .cc & .ws domains a couple of days ago..
They showed as available but wouldn't reg & still showed as available.
You may get mad at GD & cancel your membership if you like but they do not run the registries....They access the info that is provided to them & as I said the County Code tld's have been a little wonky lately..
I have also never had a refund problem with GD...

I'll just wait for their support to reply to me :(.

I'v got a few domains at GoDaddy (From that system glitch that I thought were normal coupon codes), but I don't knwo what I'll buy wih the $19.98 or whatever it is once that goes into my GoDaddy account :o.

Ill just have to wait and see :P And I'l hope for better things the next time I register a .co.uk domain :talk:

Thanks for the suport anyway.

GD doesn't put it "in your account" as they don't actually give you a deposit account.
They will refund your credit card or whatever method you used to pay as a rule...

I prefer to pay via PayPal though :(.

Also 1and1 charges for pushing a domain, which makes it harder to sell them as wholesale to experienced domainers who like the more popular ones.

They are putting in a request for a refund since I didn't get the domain, then if it is accepted, I have to wait 5-7 business days :(. I want to buy another domain from GoDaddy in the meantime, but I don't want my money to get stuck again :(.

What are the cheapest (and best) .co.uk registars that accept PayPal?

Thanks for the help from everyone so far! B-)
