Hi,

Just a quick question about backordering at Pool.com

If there is more than one person backordering the same domain it goes to an auction, correct?
So do they charge you the $60 if you go to the auction? some sites put your fee as a starting bid on the auction, is this what pool do?

Ive backordered a domain but dont want to pay more than the $60, so if it there is more than one person i might aswell back out if they are going to charge me the $60.

They will not charge you *unless* you are the only one who has placed an order on a particular name. Then they charge $60 and you get the domain.
If an auction takes place only the winner is charged. So you do not pay for getting into the auctions.

I have a question too. Does the $60 include reg fee?

They will only charge your credit card if the backorder is successful and you are the only bidder
or if you win the auction so they don't have to refund anything.

Has anyone actually ever gotten to an auction at Pool? I've never been successful with a single backorder there (not even going to an auction)!

I got 4 names there versus 0 in snapnames.

I have been more lucky with snap & club drop. I still place backorders with pool, it costs nothing to backorder after all.

Based on DNJournal the last few weeks and personal experience with Pool I have to wonder how long they can be around at all with their current business model. Snapnames has them pretty well shut out..
