Phpbb - Spam issue

I have a forum - phpbb

and im gonna spammed to death - how do I stop this spam posts?

make it harder for them to join... make it so they have to check their email, and on the reg. page make it so they have to anwser a question only a human would know, and yes there is a mod out for that.

I run too very popular phpBB and last 3 years percentage of spam on my board is 0%.
What to do.Install next couple mods:

I was having alot of spam issues with my phpbb3 forum. I switched to SMF and installed the akismet mod. Have not seen any spam on there since then.

You can also install "profile control panel" it's a mod created by ptirhiik. A complex redevelopment of the registration page. Kinda kicks the spammers in the shins :D

I was having alot of spam issues with my phpbb3 forum. I switched to SMF and installed the akismet mod. Have not seen any spam on there since then.

askimet and spam words works very well.

I used to use phpbb3 on my website, and was getting too much spam...so I switched to SMF and installed the akismet plugin...the post counts get screwed up when spam gets blocked, but there is no spam on my forum.

I too, was running a php and got killed with the spam. I moved to vb and it was the best thing I ever did. Well worth the price many times over, for several reasons, most importantly the available mods that increase membership and posts. PM me for details.
