VB vs. PHPBB

I am running a new forum in PHPbb and I really find difficult working with mods... I haven't encounter any problem with VBscript before...

I am about to give-up using phpbb..

IPB - Invision Power Board

phpbb - sucks
VB - Awesome, but costly, very plain
IPB, Awesome, but costly, but very stylish

If I were to make a choice it would be between VB and IPB myself.

For the most part I prefer to use PHPBB, but I also use VBulletin when the license is provided for me.

Ultimately PHPBB is the best option that is free, while VBulletin is the best if you have a few extra bucks to spend.

I have used IPB, VB and phpBB.

In order of the best:

-IPB
-VB
-phpBB

phpBB is free which is GREAT, however the addons for VB are much better and theres a much wider range, as for IPB it just can't be beaten.

Vb is the most powerful forum software as i know,
but it's difficult to custom the script,
i have a good knowledge about vb after develop three forums for the past two years...

I read your post and as per that i am sharing some information with you which is really helpful to you....definitely VB. I'd used three of them, PHPBB full of bugs, IB lack some of the feature that I need, but VB have everything that I want in the forum. And lots of plugins/mod too. But it come at a price though, PHPBB is free, purchased price for IB is $80 USD I believe, but for VB, the price is $160 USD, you can choose to lease from them though, one year fee is $80 USD....
