...by private person with sincere desire - a professional web developer, but madly in with photography...
...for development of one very nice photography project...
...for the last biggest project in his 8-year web development career... :cy:
...and the first big project in his new photography career...
...there were some financial difficulties during the sale process...
...but in the end transaction has been successfully concluded...
...though the buyer is going to eat only bread and water for a while...
...but he is 101% happy about the purchase anyway!

I expect the pro extension to gain in popularity. Because the registration price for a .pro domain is steep ($99 at En Circa), there are many good keywords still available.

Photography.pro may have fetched over 2 grand, but I bet there are some better .pro names to be had for under $1,000.

.pro is as memorable as anything out there for certain names... if you handed out your business card or used it in advertisements ... www.photography.pro or [email protected] will not be easily forgotten.

I wouldnt have purchased it as an investment - however for development, just about anything is possible. If you feel this domain name was vital to your new business, then you made the right decision. In this case, your the end user and you were willing to pay that price. I think you did well for yourself and I believe your helping to set the market value for .pro domain names. More important, the name fits your plans in developing an own website about photography perfectly and as there are not many available and affordable names like this for you as an end user, it is definetely a good buy.
