Giving an exact appraisal on this is difficult.

The .pro extension in itself is expensive. One would hope the extension would become more popular but it is doubtful as the market becomes more and more flooded with extensions, like .aero, .jobs. Now there is .cpa.pro, .law.pro, .md.pro. The .pro thing never got off the ground before they started bastardizing the thing.

Photography is certainly generic, perhaps Photo would have been better if not already taken. Every photographer thinks of themselves as a Photography Pro or a wannabee.

Doubtful as a domain at this point it would be worth much more than registration fee. As a developed site for very high end equipment and cameras, lenses affiliate and sales as well as premium photography site it could do well. But I think it might cost some bucks to promote this site and get it ranked simply to make folks aware to type in the .pro extension.

There, that's my 2 cents.

I couldn't find the regfee for a .pro, but I think the domainname is pretty solid. Namebio.com lists some photography related domains with prices varying from low $xxx to low $xxxx.

I suggest checking the recent .pro sales and matching these with similiar .com/.net/.org/.info names and then try to find out what photography-related .com/.net/.org/.info names are worth. I hope that made sense :p.

I could see it selling around mid to high x,xxx

I think mid to high $x,xxx. It is a great name for a photography site and the .pro works well with it.

Is it true that "At this time, only members of the medical, legal, accounting and engineering professions, licensed in the United States, Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom, are eligible to register .Pro domains."?

From the sounds of this, this is a very solid domain, however the cost for the domain (I'm reading between $119 - $300?) and the fact that this domain is still pretty restricted means that unless you can find a specific end user, I'm not sure it'd be worth too much to a reseller.

I'd suggest hanging onto the domain for a bit, however the reg. fee doesn't make that easy. I think this domain could create a large sale in the future (high $x,xxx); it just depends whether you seek out an end user now, or wait and see this as an investment for when/if ".pro" domains take off.

Very nice domain though :)

Understood, not even a consideration in my analysis and appraisal.

I too give it a solid $x,xxx - the extension is a natural for this too. :kickass: I've been bullish on .pro for some time now, as I think after August contract renewal time, registrars will compete to offer registrations at lower prices.

In short, right now it should sell for cheap, but by the end of this year I think it'll be worth low $1,500 - $3,000 (my opinion based on nothing)

You got that backwards, the TLD was launched with the restrictions, then last year Encirca broke out by exploiting a loophole (with tacit cooperation from the registry since they weren't selling well?) and ICANN deliberately avoided taking action.

It's a sleeper TLD until the new contract comes - that should explicitly sanction the unrestricted registrations, so the other 20-odd registrars will follow suit and prices will fall.</theory>

Well .pro costs a bit by itself not even depending on the domain and this domain is very good premium one word.

I would say developed well over 100, 000 but for now mid XX, XX

I agree it will probibly be worth more when ".pro" is more accepted by end users.

low to mid $xxx
if you devo it it can be very well known, the .pro extension goes well with some words ( imo ) like computers, helpdesk, support and others.
i tend to disagree with circa1850, photo.pro isn't so eye apealing as photography.pro.
just my 2 cents.

btw you can keep the np's.

I own some .pros and its not easy to sell these if the keyword isnt right and has a high OVT. I sold onlinepoker.pro and texasholdem.pro for $4000 and that was in the beginning of the poker-era. I purchased poker.pro for $2700 and I turned down a offer for $10.000 for it. I got a offer for ยฃ1000 for Sudoku.pro but I wanted more.

I really love the .pro extension, because of the "Professional"-thingy, but some people reg different words that dont even match .pro, thats just a waste of money.

I think .pro will become more popular in time since the other extensions dont really fit the keywords. Whatta hell is a poker.aero? :)
Well, just like the other comments I think your name is worth around low $x.xxx. Developed It could go very high.
