Hi i'm not sure is it the right place to post so i will just post here since i didn't see domain with PR forum anywhere

i have a site that got penalty by google (When i type info:site it doesn't show anything)

The question is: Will it lose google PR for sure? and how long?

Is there a way to make it keeps it PR (I will improve it and let google know? )

Please help me to answer those question, this is urgent

Thank you all

1. Either you did something against the Googly rules
2. Some hacker infected your site

First check Google webmaster tool, it will show you why you are banned possibly, and after you fixed the issue(s) you can re-apply to be in Googly.

G-luck!

A penalty is when your rankings take a hit but your site is still in the index and shows up with a site: command.

Sounds like your site was de-indexed. A page can't have Google PageRank if it's not in Google's index.

Clean up whatever caused them to remove it (see their Webmaster Quality Guidelines) and file a reconsideration request in Webmaster tools. If you can get it reconsidered and back in, you should get any previous PR back on the following update. Unless your linking strategy was the problem (TBPR is a metric reflecting inbound links to a page.)

to be honest i don't know what cause the problem too, it happens last month and till not the PR still the same but i just got de-index. I just sign up for a google webmaster account like you said but nothing shows what's the problem with my site.

So you think if i install the fresh install to my website i can still keep its PR ? thanks for your help

Everyone's jumping to conclusions very quickly in this thread. The most likely possibility is that you were sandboxed.

Have you added a bunch of backlinks in a short amount of time?
Anything spam-related?

Go check with Google's Webmaster Tools - but chances are you're in the sandbox temporarily.

Where within Google's Webmaster Tools would it say that your website may be in sandbox temporarily?

Google will never tell you that you've been sandboxed.

If you search for your site and it's not showing up in the index, the way you see if you've been deindexed vs. sandboxed is by looking in Google Webmaster Tools.

If Webmaster Tools have no notes on you being deindexed, yet you're not in search results, then you've been sandboxed.

I'd also recommend searching through different data centers, as different data centers will have different results.

yes, there's nothing in the webmaster tool. So that's mean i'm getting sandboxed ? I hear that the sandbox problem can last for over 3 months before it's goes back to normal even if i fix all the problem ? So will my website lose its PR the next google update ? Or I will just keep trying to build my site the normal way ?

the way you see if you've been deindexed vs. sandboxed is by looking in Google Webmaster Tools.

Or via a "site" command (sorry - thought that's what you used originally - I see you actually said you used "info". Read it fast - my bad.)

Search for site:yourdomainname.tld

It will return any pages in the index.

Another forum I belong to was just discussing the issue of de-indexing as one of the members there just had a slew of dn's disappear from Google.

It was suggested that there were two types of de-indexing, one that is automated (triggered by something in their algo), the other is a manual ban after a Google employee has actually visited your site and found some problem(s).

The automated ones supposedly "drop off" after a few months so your dn's will resurface on their own, but the manual ones are cleared only after whatever problems are dealt with and a reinclusion request is submitted to the big G.

Can't swear to any of this, just repeating what I read elsewhere...

you are de-indexed and google would never tell you why.

Have you added a bunch of backlinks in a short amount of time?

That wont get your site deindexed. How do you explain a viral video on a site getting thousands of links in a day out of thin air?

Back in 2008 i waited over 6 months to get domain indexed, lot's of backlinks add, submitted etc and i discovered later that domains is blacklisted in past, so check your domain history a little bit

By my own experience, it'll lose PR.
Your domain will be re-indexed after centain months
