I've been watching the forums for a while now and have seen several things that need to be discussed before someone new decides to jump into this industry and business. Those things I am about to discuss are called... The Basics!

As usual let me clarify a few things:

1. I still do not consider myself an expert in this industry. Why; because I am always learning new things and still making mistakes. Therefore please feel free to correct me if I post something wrong.

2. I am not going to discuss parking tactics and techniques. This is simply to cover items which people constantly ask. If you see something that needs to be added please let me know and I will gladly add them.

3. The things I have learned and sharing are form the years I've spent making mistakes.

4. My usual disclaimer: I will not discuss illegal, blackhat, or other things shunned upon in this industry.

5. If you don't have a sense of humor, take things personal, etc, then don't follow me and hit the big red "X" in the upper right hand corner of the screen.


Now before I get into the meat and potatoes of this post let me say thank you to all you have supported me, messaged me, and worked with me over the years.

Id also like to thank Matt @ bodis and his team, Donny @ voodoo and his team as well for always taking the time and having the patience to share the information they do with all of us on a regular basis. It's not everyday you find owners of parking companies working with the lower level "players" like myself. So thank you once again for taking the time to share this information and taking the time to hep every single one of us.


So let's get down to the basics.

(10 -5- 2014)This is going to be a rough draft and will be updated over the next few days as I post this information.)



#1. When do I get paid?

(Edit: 10-5-14 : Thank You @David Walker ! I've used your post instead. Very well put!)

The service is parking and the invoice is for a period of 1 month (28/30/31 days). When a parking company states that their parking is NET-7, that means that the “invoice” or service will be paid in full 7 days after it is completed. In other words, the month of January has ended and they now owe an invoice of $500. That invoice must be paid to you within or on the 7th (business day). In your example provided, Bodis is NET-7 and Voodoo is NET-30.

There are companies out there that can deal in lesser or greater net payments, depending on quality and traffic amounts.

Net 7 – 7 days after the completion of the parking service (1 month) + 7 days
Net 15 – 15 days after the completion of the parking service (1 month) + 15 days
Net 30 – 30 days after the completion of the parking service (1 month) + 30 days

Bodis has no minimum payout, which means if you earn a dime in 1 month, you will receive your dime in 7 days following the end of the month. However, some parking companies have minimum payouts via different payment methods.

Let’s use an example of a minimum payout of $50 over a payment period of NET-30. If you earn $30 your first month, you will not get paid NET-30 in your first cycle as you did not fulfill the minimum payment requirements. That $30 will roll into the next month where you earn another $30, which is a total of $60 and above your minimum payout threshold. You will be eligible for NET-30 at that point, making it a total of around 90 days to receive $60.



#2. Charge-backs & Deductions

A lot of people often ask; "Why do I have chargebacks, what are they, why do they happen?" Hopefully I am able to cover this all for you.

Chargebacks are part of this business. They happen to every single person in it. If someone says they don't get them they are 100% lying. Now they may not happen every month, heck you might go 10 months without a single one but eventually they do happen and yes...they do happen to me. So the question is why?

Traffic Quality:

Sometimes traffic coming from a source may be deemed as bad quality This has nothing to do with the parking company themselves but rather with the "UPSTREAM PROVIDER".

Click Fraud:

This happens when you click on your own inks to make money. However this can also apply to several other things like; telling your friends to do it, having random people do it, advertising to have people do it and more. Basically, there is no intention for that person to actually buy the product and you are having them do it simply for you to make gains. This is a NO,NO, and you will be get banned or your account will get hammered into oblivion. Just don't do it!

Conversion Rates:

Simply put, this is the amount of people coming from your parking sites and sign up/ buying a product, service, or requesting information. This shows Google that the quality of traffic coming is on par with what they want. If you have 100 people visit a site and not a single one signs up, buys something, etc...well they are going to have a problem with it and justifiably so.


Okay, so now we know about the potential for chargebacks but how else does this affect me:


Carry Overs:

This means the upstream provider has determined that they are not happy with the traffic you are sending. This could be because of the following items we discussed previously. Now, what a lot of people don't understand is that the "Parking Company" is not the boss. The upstream providers are the boss and can simply send an email to the parking companies telling them to carry over your money for any reason what so ever.

"Well RJ, that's bullshit, I can't believe they would do something like that. I wan't to know why and all I hear from the parking companies is that the upstream provider told them to and no more information is given!"

Welcome to the world of parking. The upstream providers do not have to disclose anything to you nor will they. If they want to close your account and go buy a Hot Chocolate from Starbucks...they can. There is nothing you can say or do to change this and honestly it's a waste of time to even argue about it. Suck it up, put on your big boy/ big girl pants and move on.

Carry over length of time:

"Well fine RJ, I hate you and the parking companies...so how long before I get my money form the carry over?"


A carry over is like a prison sentence for you account. It can last from 90 days - Indefinitely. Basically the upstream provider is worried about something and has deemed that your account needs more review time.

DEAL WITH IT! I once had a carry over for 5 months. Was I upset? Sure, but I also understand that stuff happens and that this is part of the business.game I signed up for. If you can't handle the swings, the ups and downs, then this roller coaster is not meant for you.

Account Suspended/Suspension:

Your account is closed. This could be for several reasons as discussed above. My word of advice, message the support team of the parking company and ask "NICELY" what happened. Even if you don't like the response you receive it's not going to change the outcome of the account suspension. Do not get pissed at the parking company as 99% of the time it's not their fault but they are complying with the Upstream providers demands.


What does Zero-Click, 1-click, 2-click, or Auto Lander's mean & what's their purpose?

Zero Click:

Sends visitor directly to an advertisers landing page, and while on average zero click providers tend to pay more per visit, not everyone/website is eligible.

Single Click:

Direct links to advertisers promotional content, pays you for just one click.

Double Click:

Has a preliminary set of links with categories that lead to a more refined set of advertisers links. You are paid only for the second click, but may increase CTR (Click Through Rate).

Automatic:

Parking provider will decide based on small factors in domain name which of these choices they think is best suited for your page.

They are all fine options, and it's not likely you will see a massive change in traffic or revenue from swapping between them, but if you have the time it could be worth seeing which works best for your individual domains, personally I just throw most of mine onto single click unless the name is not very descriptive.


What do all those crazy letters mean; CTR, RPM, RPC, etc...

RPM: "Revenue Per Mille (Or Mil)" - That means your income per 1000 clicks.
RPC: "Revenue Per Click" - That one is fairly self explanatory.
CTR: "Click Through Rate" - The percentage of clicks received from visitors to your site

These are the rules that I follow when issues come up or if I have a concern about payments, deductions etc. Remember, this rule, don't piss off the people who control the money. Often times I see members come on here and blast Matt or Donny because an issue might not have been resolved to the users satisfaction. If you think that bashing, ridiculing, berating, threatening, these people will get you anywhere then you are in for a sad ending.

We're all humans, we all make mistakes, however if you are going to be an abusive person then you will rightfully be treated as such.

Resolve differences in private and not in public. If you don't like the outcome, if you are banned, if your account is carried over, these are not public matters. Take these steps instead:

Step #1

- Email the parking companies support team

- Wait for a response (24-72 hours)


"Okay RJ, thanks for your lame advice..I waited 72 hours like you said and still nothing. I'm going to go on a public forum now and bash them because I'm angry and frustrated."


Well if you do that then this is how I see you and the rest of the community sees you and you get what you rightfully deserve.




Step #2 - No response to support tickets. What steps should I do next?

- Get on namepros and post your concern in the proper thread. Be as factual as possible. Leave your emotions at the front door.

Good Example: (Use this example)

Hey (insert Name)

I am having a problem with (Insert Problem). What should I do to resolve (Insert Problem)?

Thank You,

(Insert Your Name)


Bad Example: (Never do this but it seems to be the most common method used)

Hey (insert abusive word of choice)

(Insert abusive words), why did you (insert abusive word) my account? Your company is a (insert abusive word). I hope a thousand horse sized, zombie ducks, strapped with laser beams, find you and (Insert abusive phrase & object). I want this fixed "NOW"!

Well, if you do this...you sir are a douche and I hope they close your account, keep your money, and spend it on hookers & blow while sending you pictures of the money you could of made.


While my points are made with humor the point I'm trying to say is; being mean, being abusive, threatening people is not going to get you what you want.


Words of advice:

1. Don't get mad at the parking companies for simply applying the rules they are required to. If someone walked into your home and didn't follow your rules would you want that person back? Of course not and unfortunately this happens all too often.
