So, anybody catch SNL last week in which 'Palin' asks 'Couric' if she could 'use one of her life lines' when asked a tough questin?

'I wanna phone a friend' she tells Couric, in which Couric responds 'You do not have any lifelines'. 'Palin' then says, 'I'll just have to get back to you on that then'

ROFL

I guess this is a case of life imitating art, cuz it looks like Palin decided to 'bring in a friend' for her follow up interview...

i wonder if mccain will show up at the vp debates ....

McCain will be too busy to attend, repairing the damage done that Nancy Pelosi did to the bailout agreement with her diatribe. Really, one would think that, for the health of the nation, she could put aside her fanatical dislike of anyone who disagrees with her for a few moments. But then, she's probably worried that someone will start talking about opposing earmarks, again, she has such a stressful life.

poornancy dot com is available, hmmm.

Embarrassing!

The "bailout" didn't pass y'day for one reason ... because the Republicans in the House feared they would not be re-elected in five weeks time if their signatures were on it, IMHO. :turkey: :snaphappy:

Calling in a 'lifeline' in having McCain sitting right there next to her to defend her in Couric II was absolutely amateur and disgusting, in my view ... she is supposed to be running for the Vice President of the United States of America, for Goodness sakes! :yell:
This woman has ZERO confidence, and is highly unstable at this point in time ... and I personally do not believe she'll even be on the ticket come November 4th. :guilty:

Pelosi should've held her tongue, but this "failure" does not fall squarely on her shoulders. The bailout bill, as originally written, is the worst piece of proposed legislation since the Patriot Act. Bush has finally removed all doubt that he is now a lame-duck President who's lost influence over his own party and America in general (thank God almighty). In addition, too many people contacted their representatives and told them that if they voted yes, they'd get put out to pasture come election day. Several no votes, in my belief, were either based on deeper-than-surface analysis of the bill or ideological inflexibility (e.g., Ron Paul). This was a disaster from the get-go IMHO.

With all the comments expressed to the SNL skit on Palin/Couric sounds like a difinite US Congress situation. Always finger pointing and never getting down to business, NEVER taking responsibility.

Hey Dave I loved that skit and Palin was trying to use her life line. And what was with Courics blank stare in the SNL skit. Geez

Who do you think would replace Palin if this were to happen?

This is the first election I remember where both Vice Presidential candidates were rumored to be taken off the ticket! First Biden for Hillary, and now Palin for...? Romney? Giuliani?

"Really, one would think that, for the health of the nation, she could put aside her fanatical dislike of anyone who disagrees with her for a few moments."

Well I guess they taught her a lesson, at the expense of us taxpayers. You know what kind of sandwich they like to serve each other on capitol hill, and they are paid to eat one from time to time.

If you don't do the right thing because someone hurt your feelings, you still didn't do the right thing. I think it's all a show any way, he said she said, and keep the cameras rolling.

The life line spoof was funny; I can only imagine what SNL will do next week, their ratings must be going through the roof!!!

I've heard rather serious local rumors of top secret meetings of top-level McCain aides with folks - if not Mitt, himself - from the Romney campaign (in the Boston area)! :guilty: :imho:
Considering the extremely hightened state of the economy and markets, this makes perfect sense as well. :gl:

You heard it here first, friends!

Follow-up question - do you think if Romney were added to the ticket that it would make undecided voters more likely to vote for McCain?

Oh, no VP is bowing out. Unless Palin owns a boat called "Monkey Business", she's in, and Biden is as well they were both good choices.

First of all, I wish I could tell you why I've heard - and pretty much trust - these rumors! :gl: :imho:
If you heard, you'd have very little doubt that it's true IMHO.

To answer your question, yes absolutely ... undecided, including independent, voters would be very likely to vote with the McCain / Romney ticket due to the overwhelming economic news of the day (Biden was chosen for his foreign policy experience - that used to be the frontrunning issue)! The race has taken on a whole new dimension since the conventions, and I feel nearly 85% - 90%+ confident that McCain will go with Romney after she flops out on Thursday evening, IMHO.
Remember, friends ... the ladies love Romney -and- he's pro-life!

I'm a big Obama / Biden supporter, but this potential combination is very formidable for the Republicans ... could it have been scripted any better? OMG. :o
Obama, though, can very successfully point to McCain's lack of judgement (in initially choosing an immature, extremist, and inexperienced Palin). :guilty:
Just my two sense.

Pelosi was 100% right on what she said. Bad timing maybe yes, but right for sure!

LOL...No, I didn't see that but it sounds funny! At least Palin is making the McCain side a 'bit' more interesting. I personally enjoyed reading about her daughter's red neck boyfriend...

Personally I would like to see Romney in the VP spot if only because the nation needs a stronger leader economically. Romney has a great track record in that regard. McCain/Romney ticket would be the best of both worlds with National Security experience on one hand and economics on the other. Biden I could care less about. I wonder if that's why Obama chose him. The focus is on Obama not Biden (as it should be). Yet McCain chose Palin which I can accept but imho...she has serious weaknesses that are being exploited on a regular basis. I wonder if McCain advisors anticipated the attacks on her and felt they were actually a good thing since it takes focus off McCain. They can unload her at any time and send the Obama camp into a spin trying to create new ads. It would imho be a great move.

I don't understand why American can't elect the VP seperately.

That's funny Bru.

I can't wait to see this thread on Friday after the debates. The world will be watching, this could be the show of the century, and we were alive to see it.
