There is more than hope don't pay attention to just the US market speak to a brit about .tv or some other countries. Many transactions in .tv unreported I know of 6 x,xxx that cannot and will not be reported. All six unrelated parties.

I have been amazed by the number of .tv web addresses that I've seen popping up on the, (you guessed it!), TV screen in just the past 2-3 months. In fact, next to .com, I think I have seen more .tv domains than any other, and this is a very recent phenom. They are showing up in product advertisements, as well as for TV program websites. I have regged a couple, myself, but as part of a development project, and not as a domain name sales investment, but for all of you .tv believers out there, you may have hit on something that is about to break wide open. Best of luck!

I must admit that I was never too fond of .TV (and for that matter not fond of any extension that people have to create a new meaning for it's acronym) but I can't ignore the sales, or the growing popularity in other countries. It seems that .TV is spreading it's wings now and taking off. Like many other people, I overlooked it and didn't bother to claim my spot. It appears now that I should have reserved a nice window seat.

Names like (EQ78's) LCD.TV are looking like wise investments, and I say more power to the .TV supporters. The Internet is a big place and there is plenty of room. Every time a non-com extension gets extra publicity, it's a good thing for all who reside in the alternative namespaces.

LCD.TV - Yep, that's a HOT one, and a great match for current & emerging technology. :)

I see .tv all the time on TV advirtesments. I like the extensions and I know its getting more popular, perhaps I should look into going into the market.

I have a sneaking suspicion that part of the reason .tv domains are becoming more common is because .info .biz .com etc. are taken thus leaving the infamous .tv. Personally I have nothing against the suffix but obviously some do...

Just consider that:

1) MTV.TV --> Is the official site for MTV in Europe
2) Eurovision.TV --> Is the official site for Eurovision.
3) These global leaders in the media business have adopted .tv and spent millions in branding the .tv name over .com, .net, etc

The market has gone for it big time IMO and the .TV is here to stay. Grab 'em while you can :guilty:

My .tvs'

I cyrrently have 2 .tv's on www.GreatDomains.com , they are

www.SportsInfo.tv and www.SportsVideo.tv . I have had another one accepted, it is www.MusicSearch.tv.

I also have regged:

www.Infosearch.tv
www.Infonews.tv
www.NewsLive.tv
www.Music-Download.tv
www.TvSeries.tv
www.MovieChannels.tv
(all above for sale, make me an offer, bet on the future!!)

Now for the bad news. There are 4 .tv's I have let expire still on www.GreatDomains.com . Not because I didn't want them, but because they are expensive to re-register. A couple of them were premium .tv's , for $100, and $200 a year. I won't reg any premium names anymore. These are the names that you can only reg at the .tv website, they won't show up as available to reg at other registrars.

The rest of my .tv's I will hold on too, and even reg again. I will keep my fingers crossed. I have also noticed more and more .tv's being used on the television too.
Good luck to all fellow .tvers!!!

Frank

Frank, might you be so kind as to forward that information on to another party?

A popular one over in Europe would be GM.TV. ;)

So, millions in the UK watch GMTV everyday, and they always advertise their website which obviously is a .TV extension. Meaning, more and more people are familiar with .TV :tu:
