NP moderators & staff support scam or are not competent to see the scam.
It is not the first time I see staff delete reasonable comments on fishy offers.
I just see a few reason why they do it:
1. they are not competent
2. they get comissions from scammers

Last example:
https://www.namepros.com/threads/full-website-for-sale-avg-130-adsense-revenue.1109921/

All my comments were deleted:

Ok, I will post it here again.
The website has just 24 posts, and 7 of them are just disclaimer-contact-about pages.
The seller is a new member, who registered just for post this "great" offer for just $1500.
The website is teatimeresults.info and the seller insist this site is earning 4-7$ a day..
Instead to delete this scam offer, NPros staff deleted my comments, supporting the scammer.
Make your conclusion!

This is not the first time NP mods/staff delete my comments on similar threads.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
The rules are very clear do not post comments in a sales thread use the report button. Your comments were excessive surprised you didn’t get a warning.

My comments were a reason for delete the scam offer. But instead of that the staff deleted my comments and left the scam post thread.
The staff could close the thread and left the comment that the offer looks suspect and ask the seller for proof.
Instead if that they ALWAYS delete comments.

You can always open up a new topic to discuss your concerns, similar to what you are doing here.

You will find that between members and moderators your concerns will get a thorough investigation.

Members on namepros have a proven track record of getting to the bottom of even the most complicated scams.

The point is not create my own thread, the problem is that NP staff delete reasonable comments and reviews of fishy offers thread.

Why, don't you click on the "report" button before making a comment?

When I "report" , I generally get a mod/admin alert within 24 hours.

You dont want to see see the point.
First of all I cant just report the post because I think it is scam.
I have to give any reason to ask delete the post.
Report the post or comment in this case it is the same. The same for staff. They have to check and decide.
And they do decide, they just delete my reasonable coments.
The thread is closed just because the seller asked to close it, not because the staff stopped posible scam.
The point is not the way I used to alert about possible scam, the problem is the staff which dont care about forum reputation and let post fishy and scam sale offers.

You actually do bring up a very good point.

I have opened up a couple of topics in the past asking to allow comments in sales topics but namepros is pretty firm in their policy. I even opened a topic to ask if the OP could allow the option for comments.

In other words - Comments welcome or - Discuss Below

That does not help you @mayazir because obviously a scammer would not allow comments but I also feel there is probably a middle ground somewhere and we just have not found it yet or the forum software is not capable of it yet.

Just a thought, a bit on topic, a bit off

Two different sales forums

One with comments allowed

One without comments allowed

After read my comments the staff had to make conclusion and close themporary the thread and add there own comment asking the seller for more proof of his income.
These comments could help to potential websites buyers to understand what they have to check before acquire the website.

It was 100% clear the offer was scam and the staff had to delete it within 24 hours.
They could see my comments, but couldnt or didnt want to see the scam in the post.

They found time to fight me, instead to fight the scammer.
I repeat that even the thread is closed but it is still indexed and there is no any alert or comment, so somebody can contact the seller and buy it.

There was/is a guy on here selling cookie cutter sites making unrealistic claims last year.
Maybe it's his brother. Me and another member crashed his thread after waiting for the report button to work.
24 hours or longer is to long to wait to receive a report from above imo when there is a chance someone will get ripped off.
I was slapped like you, and told if members have QuestionS they can ask them in the thread.
Pretty easy for an unsuspecting newbie to pull the trigger to quickly, and that guy I mentioned still sells his cookie cutter sites.
I see guy your talking about is brand new. Its fishy bro, no doubt, but thats just the way it is
He made 2 posts, doubt he will return under same username.

Remember there are rules here and we all need to follow them

You are allowed to ask questions Maple, in the thread Mayazir pointed out, one member even asked for the URL, which is supposed to be in the title. That was days after he opened his thread.
Mods should have been on that too, before members
Feel good, you maybe saved someone from getting burned(y)

Briguy says `When I "report" , I generally get a mod/admin alert within 24 hours.
Service@afternic generally responds in 24 hours or less too:ROFL:

We're a small team. What may look black-and-white to you often takes a long time investigate; it's not unusual for something that looks like a scam to actually be legitimate. We take the time to investigate carefully so that people aren't wrongly accused.

At the same time, we have to do this for a lot of reports. Our policy against comments makes it easier to follow sales threads and get the evidence we need. If you flood the thread with comments--regardless of what the OP says--you're making our job harder and delaying the investigation.

If there is solid, indisputable proof that a thread is a scam, it usually gets deleted much faster than 24 hours, but that's rarely the case.

An offer that sounds too good to be true isn't sufficient evidence to ban someone. What if they're just trying to liquidate their inventory quickly? There are many possibilities. Sometimes you'll see us lock a thread until we investigate more; other times, we don't have enough evidence to even do that, so we have to wait. Amanda had sent a request to that user even before you posted.

If you collect evidence--like you did here--and send it to use privately, that is very helpful. Posting it in the thread isn't. When we allow that, people end up crashing threads with fake/dubious "evidence" and opinions. That's what used to happen, which is why we now have a rule against it. Depending on your presentation, you may also be able to post the evidence in a Warnings and Alerts thread, but that doesn't bring it to our attention as fast as a direct message.

I don't welcome scams but people have to do some due diligence themselves.

Also bear in mind allowing comments would open the door to killing sales with untrue or prejudicial comments and sellers could find that difficult and time-consuming to fight.

Thats why you should not to delete comments, they help to potential buyer to understand where and what to check before acquire the website.

As Paul clearly explained, allowing this would cause far more harm than good. If we allowed comments of this nature by members in sales threads, then there would be hundreds or thousands of sales threads inappropriately ruined because of insufficient evidence and untrained investigations by members. It would only be helpful and justified on a very rare occasion: maybe once or twice a year.

If members have a concern, we appreciate when they report it to us and let us know what evidence they’ve discovered. Then our trained moderators will investigate. You can also open a new thread to discuss the evidence but publicizing the evidence could allow someone to cover their tracks and foil the investigation. Those are the only acceptable approaches. Anything else is a rule violation and will direct our attention to penalizing you instead of where it is better served: investigating.
