Not Happy With Sedo Escrow

I have had complete domains and sites sold with escrow.com in 3-4 days, with sedo I am now on day 17 and nothing has changed in 9 days. I have sen't numerous emails to dover and justin and guess what everyone is on vacation until January 6th or 7th, how convenient. Thanks for starting a transaction to let it rot. Please note where it says domain is locked on 12-16 was unlocked same day, takes them 3 days to figure out its unlocked, and authorization codes were sen't on 12-21 and still no request for domain to be transfered to them. Not happy at all with them, no longer parking or selling anything through them, good riddance. Holidays are holidays, business is business, don't start something if you do not intend to complete it. :td:

I know how you feel. I too am waiting on a sale at SEDO. According to SEDO the buyer started the tranefer request on the 27th. Nothing since! I have sent several e-mails asking for help with this sale which started on the 19th. They have never responded. I too have gone through Escrow.com and they were very quick to answer all my questions and the sale went through without any problems. I had a check (via snail mail) in ten days. Using Escrow, I was the one to transfer the domain, which was simple and done within minutes. The sale through Escrow was my first sale and I had no idea how to go about it. Escrow guided me through the whole process. I'm very frustrated that SEDO will not answer any of my questions. I guess next time I will be hesitant to except an offer from SEDO so quickly. My first sale, through Escrow, was through e-mail contact. The buyer and I were very happy with the way the sale went. SEDO has a very good thing going, it's easy to use and I like their site, but it's problems like this that will eventually bring them down. I understand the reason they charge 10% instead of 3% for a parked domain sale, is because they have advertised the domain. That's fine except I also (for the extra cost ) expect a little better service. At least they should have the courtesy to answer my questions. I have over 400 domains parked at SEDO. I will probably have to move them after they read this post. If anyone has had good results selling a domain through SEDO, please post for the benefit of other Namepro readers. Thanks in advance.

22 days in and still no resolution, account still shows this 2005-12-21 This domain requires an authorization code (AUTH-Code) in order to be transferred. Please ask your registrar for this code and send it to us as soon as possible. sent codes and multiple emails on 12-21 and still nothing, worst service I have ever seen, as of today I no longer park any domains with sedo and will not sell anything with them, I will use minisites or namedrive on domains and direct buyers to escrow.com where they don't forget about their customers.

i dont like to list my domains at sedo and you guys found out the reason, but if you want big bucks you have to list it either on sedo or afternic. Very limited eh. I hope somebody new starts a new company :)

Perfectly agree, furthermore : why not a kind of coop/company or something else just between us?

Its all depends on the buyer...
If he/she paying fast and prove the transfer fast , you'll end the sale quickly.
The only problem that usualy you dont know who makes the offer
and you cant mail him and knowing any detail.

Im having some problems with Sedo too. I still waiting for the invoice to be paid. 11 days gone by.. :(

The worst site I ever tried to sell any domains on gotta be dnbidder.com. I got a offer for 300$, I accepted it and nothing happened. Well, thanx for that!!

List your names there because you never know where a sale might come from but don't park them there or at any brokerage. Why? Because if you do and the buyer finds the name by your name and not their site you are essentially paying them 10% for an escrow. In fact they make the negotiation process even harder by screening your comments etc.

I always try to do domain payments with PayPal, because it's fastest. When I see domains at SEDO that I like, I usually just contact the seller stating I'll pay by PayPal and usually we reach some type of agreement.

I'm glad I do that now hearing how long you've been waiting! That is really ridiculous.

domains have been transfered, waiting on payment and this will be a done deal, see how long that takes :) definitely not the quickest transaction I have seen.

It is often the case that the "buyer" takes a long time to pay the money, I believe it is supposed to be within 5 days but rarely adhered too.

The holiday thing is also a problem, they should at least have skeleton staff to administer buys/ sales during such periods.

That said they are the best domain name showcase available and the escrow system works, albeit slowly - I never sell names without some form of protection.

And yes, a good competitor would ensure they kept on their toes. RJ - any ideas :?

Thanks for the update. I'm still waiting on the request for the domain transfer. The buyer paid on the 23 of Dec.

Just wrapped up a deal, waiting on the money wire. I am a fan of sedo, but this was a bumpy process.

I didn't mind the time so much, as my rep kept sending me an email about every other day saying that I was holding up the transaction, when in fact I kept sending the gd transfer codes.

Very frustrating, when you know you are not the one holding up the transaction, and yet it still has not gone through.

This was a registrar transfer, so that may account for some of the confusion. It is a stark contrast to MB exchanges with instant PP, instant push, and no escrow fees!

Transfer completed on the 16th. Still no payment after 4 business days. Transaction status in management panel says, "transaction complete".

[edit]
Quick response by email to my inquiry, so thats a plus.

I've never had a problem "with" Sedo. It's usually the buyer holding up things. Even if a month goes by, I know eventually the deal will wrap... unless the buyer totally backs out... in which case Sedo tells you your legal options.

In any case, Sedo wants the deal to go as smoothly as you do... remember, if you don't get paid... neither do they!
