Hello,

Let's say I have a premium domain name. The potential end-users for the domain are non-profit organizations.

How do you guys think I should price the domain? Again, It's a two-word premium name. The domain keyword gets over 7,000 monthly searches in the US, and the CPC is between $1 and $2. For example "ClothesDonation.com.". This is not the name but it's similar to it.

Does the fact that the potential end-users for the domain are non-profit organizations impacts the value? You opinions will be appreciated.

Yes, that's a tough question - and I don'y have an answere for you.

What I suggest is that you take a look at the salaries of the people heading up any of the organizations that are related to your domain. You can then decide how altruistic they are and use that as part of your decision making process and pricing decision.

Your suggestion is a little bit similar to what I was thinking. My idea was not to look at the salaries of the people running the organizations (because it's kind of hard to find such information online), but rather looking at the annual report of a related organization so I can take a look at their revenue and their expenses. And of course spyfu.com can help determining how much an organization spends on advertising and their estimated monthly AdWords budget.

Thank you for your input.

Any more opinions/suggestions everyone?

These next 2 links might help give you some reference points for salaries:

http://www.foundationlist.org/

http://www.eri-nonprofit-salaries.com/?FuseAction=NPO.Search
(After you look up an NPO, click on the "990" report and scroll down to the exec compensation info.)

Additional resources for revenue info (and expenditures) and possible sources of salary info (I haven't looked):

https://www.charitynavigator.org/
https://www.guidestar.org/Home.aspx
https://www.charitywatch.org/home

Somewhere in this mix of these links you should be able to quickly find revenue and/or salary data points.

Wow, I never thought such information exists. Thank you very much.

I did use the eri-nonprofit-salaries.com website to find out some information about a specific organization. The 990 report states the total salary of the CEO, including his bonus & incentives compensation is over $260,000. I guess that's something. I also found out, using spyfu.com, that the organization's estimated monthly AdWords budget is over $7,000.

I'm guessing that one to three months of Adwords budget -- or even less -- would get many organizations a very memorable or catchy domain that they could promote and would serve them well for may years to come -- and cost them only $7-10 a year after the initial purchase. But they are generally too shortsighted.

In general there are way too many businesses and industries in general that are penny wise and pound foolish when it comes to domains.

You got a great point right there. Oh well, I'll just sit on the domain until I get a really really good offer for it.
