Hi Pros!

What sounds awesome for one person, may sound strange for other, and that is precisely the problem of brandable domains..

Sometimes, even the language you speak can change the way you perceive a non keyword brandable domain.

So this post is about discussing what should a non keyword brandable look, sound and feel in general to be accepted as a good brandable domain?

Thank you so much!

Best regards,
Tiago

This is a very good question and I do agree with you. When it comes to brandable domains it really tends to have value depending on the perceive value of potential buyers. With that said though there are few factors to take into consideration.

Length of the domain - The shorter the domain the better when it comes to typing it on the web browser and remembering when you see it in some form of advertising.

Radio Test - How easy is it to pronounce and is it easy to spell.

I agree with @Willox Perez

The length and sound of a brandable domain are definitely two factors to consider.

Keep in mind however, when it comes to the name being short that doesn't necessarily mean one-word. You can find great brandables that are two-words that sell great depending on the niche and most importantly how you pitch it.

A play on two-words to come up with a one-word brandable is a technique that I like to use to come up with some great short names. For example, taking the word "tattoo" and combining it with the word "taboo" to come up with tattboo.com (FYI it's available to register as of this post ;)) could help make a very long two-word brandable into a good sounding creative one-word brandable.

Neat thread. I had just registered one that comes with a letter prefix and an X instead of an S which would have settled as english dictionary keyword. I feel that good brandables are only 'reggable' if they sound familiar, look familiar, and means familiar. Or atleast two of these.

Letter combinations also make a difference. I've been scouring on expired names and been finding those w/ vowels in between, sure they are prounouncable but the combinations just don't add up. Maybe over time I'd have a change about this.
