Moving on from the 3D, Cloud , NFC, Marijuana etc....trends, what do people think will be the next big money maker for the domainer?

I have a few Big Data domains but I like my hand in several dishes so if anyone would like to share their thoughts I'm sure a lot of domainers would appreciate any insights to what's gonna be hot or not.

I don't really do hand any regs myself anymore but i think Swift, the relative new programming in which all iOS8 apps are going to be written will be pretty hot the next couple of years. Apple just announced this the other day. A quick look on http://namebot.com/domain-name-search?s=Swift shows many .com combo's are still available for reg fee.

One technology that is about to take off is Beacons. I find it amazing we have a 70+ page NFC showcase thread, but no-one has said squat about Beacons, Bluetooth LE or proximity marketing in general. Compared to NFC, there are almost limitless applications for Beacons, and it could signal our first real foray into the internet of things.

For those who don't know what Beacons are, beekn.net is a good place to start learning. A quick Google search will also bring up plenty of news stories.

More than beacons, it is going to be Gesture based tech.
Just what i could conclude from how gesture based stuff was taking over.

I'm not really sure that Beacons and Gesture are competing technologies, but that may not have been your point, so apologies if I've misunderstood.

There is a very descriptive TM filed for "beacon" that stopped me a couple months ago regging any names. Sad since iot heavily relies on beacons as will most future tech I'm sure. I'm willing to bet there are a few of us who saw the tm and passed which is why there has been such little discussion.
