News.TV - gone again? regged? time will tell.

Anyone else notice that News.TV is no longer available? :)

Perhaps a fluke? or someone mis-regged? or perhaps a big announcement is looming?

time will tell.

$500K premium renewal.

Easy there tiger - whats wrong with speculating - or developing or one and the other....??....

I am also suspicious of this sale, and if it is genuine, then it does not look like a developer, a developer does not put THIS NAME IS FOR SALE on its parked page, unless its a lame attempt at throwing us off track......

that is enom's standard parking page. afaik, the buyer is a developer. here's hoping it truly does get developed. I am looking forward to seeing what plans they have.

Since you want to speculate, then would the sale of news.tv mean that newstv.tv and newschannel.tv are suddenly worth more especially given the asking price of news.tv? I believe newschannel.tv is reg fee while enom was asking like 1000 for newstv.tv.

If the site gets developed - yes, especially newschannel.tv. If it gets parked, and not devved - make no difference at all to the price IMHO.

I think the biggest winner of names if NEWS.TV get major league development and traffic will be ATL.TV's NESW.TV...great typo!!

If were expanding news names don't forget newsnetwork.tv

Powerful name as well

Someone owns it and a reg name pros member

Name got sold. Got a confirmed email on that. That's not speculating one bit. Now my CNN theory and or CBS or a corp is speculating

Can the deal not close. Sure it can.

Bottom line is this. It got sold. That's a fact.

Now equity brings up valid points and thoughts. I sure hope they got a discount. I don't really care about this as much nor does it bother me if they got a huge discount on this. I don't really care.

All I care about is a major corp buying this gem and be shown on tv every night just like TNT.tv is and promote .tv which we need heavily. I also care about development on this.

Time will tell.

Either way, let's enjoy the moment for right now! That's my take! I am sure people will disagree with me on this. That's ok. I am sticking to my guns

Have a good weekend everyone. Go Michigan!

Cheers

J

Atl nice typo!

Sorry download.tv, the news.tv typo is tied to yours now lol.

A 2cents thought... 29 Oct is the date of the registration of news.tv, same day there was a lunch at DM with highrollers... coincidence ? Since then News.tv (registered for 1 year + Whois privacy) is parked as a simple name (waiting for what?), today Hollywood.tv is embarked on Me.tv platform. I am just surprised to see how two of the most terrific and attractive .tv names on earth are used... unless that....
ok ok ok that's just me thinking too much lol !

So you're the one who got that! I was bidding on it too, but couldn't stick around for the finale. (Damn...)

Best of luck with it!

This always amuses me to see WhoIs protection, particularly on great names and non-adult names.

It is a sign so far of industry immaturity. the folks at domaintools.com are always pointing this out and they are right.

news.tv is going to be / should be a serious operation. It should stand up and say who it is. I am not saying people should put their personal name and home address on there, but why is it so hard to put your company name and business address. (and if anyone is regging and developing that name as a sole proprietorship and not in a corporate entity they are out of their minds)

You don't see this happening in other media fields.

Imagine if someone was launching a new cable channel (e.g. the skiing channel) and someone asked who is bring this channel and instead of people saying: "Fox/Viacom/Skiing LLC a venture backup startup" the answer was "secret private unknown people"

Anyway, it makes no difference anyway, but it does amuse me a bit.

Argos, it was registered before the lunch. They would not say who registered it...

I only know of one other ".tv'er domainer" that uses LMI.net name servers and hotkeys domain parking. As far as privacy is concerned, that is "their" business, not ours simply because "they" own the name and not us. :)

Of course. It is everyone's right to do whatever they want on this topic!

It still amuses me however. :)

My only thought on this topic is this: if the new owner of news.tv uses the me.tv platform, then they just pissed away 500K.

I think CNET Networks might be the registrant

What makes you think that?

This may be far fetched but CNET Networks has Store.com. The whois registration information lists the same DNS information for Store.com and News.tv. As we know CNET has News.com.
