1. When you say that a particular name (let's suppose DownloadGames.com) has an OVT score do you mean that

a) Some people have searched for the complete domain name with the extension
In this particular example the searched item would then be "downloadgames.com" ????

b) All the words in your url have been searched together
In this particular example the searched item would then be "download games" or "games download" ????

c) Same thing as b) but without the space ?
"downloadgames"

2. What is considered as a good OVT score ?

If you go to Yahoo.com and type google into the search box, that will count for "google" ovt. If you type google.com into the search box, that will count for "google.com" ovt.

On OVT score is either with or w/o extension. Generally, if someone says "OVT" then it's assumed it's w/o ext unless its specified.

In you example "download games" has an OVT without extension of 85008 (which could be either searches for "download games" or "games download") and an OVT with ext of 289 meaning that there were that many searched for the exact domain last month.

What's a "good" OVT score is kind of subjective. If you're buying names to park, then you really need to focus on .coms but you're not likely to find many with OVT over 1000 available. If you do, consider the name before buying it - remembering that this is a search engine term - not type in. IE, people type in keywords if they think its a website (homeloans.com, newtires.com, lifeinsurancequotes.com) but some ovt results just show search engine terms.

For example OVT shows 42,235 for "best loss program weight". But only 33,615 for "weight loss program".

Even though 42k is a good number of searches, I could all but guarantee more people type-in weightlossprogram.com than bestweightlossprogram.com even though the latter has significantly higher OVT. The reason is because "best" is a search engine term - people looking for a site that compares weight loss programs.

In the example above, with a score of 85k, it really wouldn't matter if you regged gamesdownload or downloadgames, you're likely to get some good type ins.
