Hi guys,

I did ask for appraisals in the normal forum but I should have posted it here really.

I just registered DoubleGlazing.tv which is a term mainly used in the UK with an overture of 2444.

The industry is worth hundreds of millions of pounds every year in the UK with many national companies advertising on the TV.

I was very surprised to find the domain available in .TV seeing as .ws, .cc and .nu are already registered as well as all other major extensions.

Excellent reg for a reg fee name.

DG is a big industry in the UK and how many DB contractors would love to get their hands on that name for advertising/ marketing purposes.

OR you could set it up as a site where DG firms can advertsise on your site with video ads and examples of work they have done.

Thank you for your response.

I'm actually in the process of developing the domain name to create a site which recommends installers across the country. The good thing for me is that I already have connections within the industry who can offer me percentages from the sales generated by the leads from the site rather than just £30 per lead which is what most of the larger sites get.

I have already negotiated a deal with one of the largest companies in the UK and they have agreed to pay me 10% of any sales generated by the site. Considering that the average sale is £3,000 and their conversion rate is 1 in 3 (or 1 in 2 in some areas) I think this site can go a long way.

I was just very surprised to find this domain available. At first I thought that Idotz had made a mistake and that perhaps it was a premium domain which wasn't showing up properly, but after further research I quickly registered the domain.

Yes, ran one of the top largest Home Improvement Lead Generation sites in the US

if you can get percentage good. Problem in the states is most contractors will stiff you on the percentages and the country it too large to police it.

Several US Home Lead Gen sites (ImproveNet) tried it and it was too difficult to monitor. But if you have connections and a process in place, then pct is better than lead fees.

This is a good point, and I know that even now some of the larger lead generators get stung all the time.

The site is almost finished.

The site is more of an advice site than my competitors. What I will do is accept incoming calls myself as well as email inquiries generated by the website and deal with those to give advice on the best installers to use.
Of course the main objective once they have given their details to me is to pass that information on as a well qualified lead to a Double Glazing firm.

Many of the other lead generators will require you to even put in the sizes of your windows before passing you on to another company. I plan to make it as easy as possible for someone to gain more information.

I'll let you know once the site is online.
