I think the standard php mail() function will allow you to claim what email address you are using. So if you write something in the script that says your email address is [email protected] then the email sent will appear to be from [email protected]. That is, of course, if I'm not mistaken. I ony have limited knowledge of PHP.

whenever I get one of these, I check the properties on the email and get
the address that's under message source...then I go and put that address in
a few places that do mailings - mass mailings - not sure if it works, but it gives me satisfaction that I did something back...I have never clicked on any links or replied to any of the emails from my own computer, I find this more satisfying... :hehe:

If you put your mouse over the link and look to the bottom right hand corner of your mail client it ussually shows you the actual address they are sending you too. What you have demonstrated above is exactly how they do it. BUT to make the real address it is sending you too look a bit more authentic what they are doing at the moment is having a subdomain the same name as the site you think you are getting sent too such as http://www.namepros.com.arcaderush.net this probably fools the casual user or someone who only quickly glances at the address as they are comforted by the fact the address contains the real address for the site (although they do not notice it is a subdomain)
