New Free Domain Marketplace Program - By Domainers for Domainers

Just like the NamePros member who was fed up with low paying parking sponsors like Sedo and the rest, I was fed up with the Domain Marketplaces charging high listings costs or transaction fees for domains on their sites.

I invested the sale proceeds from one of my domain names to create a free domain marketplace to buy/sell domain names: www.FreeNameExchange.com

However, I took a lot of suggestions, advice, and ideas by many domainers on this forum and implemented them in the site's design. Not only can a domainer offer a domain for sale, but he or she can also offer it for lease or announce that they are looking for partners for development.

Every account is free. Every domain listing is free. When a domain is sold/leased/or developed because of a site listing, there are no fees or commisions.

I wanted to thank the countless NamePros members that helped me really think through some of the features that domainers truly want and need as part of a marketplace. I am already hearing about some really cool ideas, suggestions, and feedback about where I should take the site in the future.

Thanks to all the NamePros members who contributed their thoughts.

SF,

It was an absolute honor to list IT.TV, EDUCATION .TV and a few others on your site........clean, simple and user friendly.......I am sure you will do very well offering a new business model to domainers looking to sell/lease their names without paying a hefty fee in the process.

I for one am grateful indeed and wish you all the best in your endevours.....

Great job!

I think you should advertise it like globally, Adwords, etc etc. Also buying out banner space on DNF/Namepros may be a good idea.

Btw, nice slogan! ;)

Nice looking site. Hopefully you get some nice sales that will put your name on the map.

You might want to get the thread moved to something a little more appropriate (http://www.namepros.com/for-sale-advertising-board/ ), since as far as I can tell, you don't offer traffic monetization.

Definitely buy some banner space, since people will most likely only see this thread the few times it is bumped.

Good luck,
Jorge

THank you all very much for your kind words. I know that I am less experienced and have a lot to learn about domaining in general (I am still hurting from my first experience buying .com names), but this community has been good to me and I hope more domainers will learn about and see the benefits of a free domain name exchange.

I went into this thinking like a domainer, basing it off the little I know the domain marketplace lacked. I PM'd several well established NamePros members to get their advice and opinions. With the help of these members, I feel confident in saying the site truly caters to our community of domainers.

--------

I approved all the domain listings that were pending approval. This should be reflected in your user account statistics that appear when you first login. Of course, you could browse a category for one of your names, click it then click the link next to your name to see your entire FreeNameExchange.com portfolio.

What a beautiful site and a noble idea. I love the idea of alternatives to sedo, afternic, and tdnam. PM sent with a minor advertising suggestion. Rep ++

Then he will have to charge you fees :hehe:

Btw, how does the negotiations/transaction/escrow process work?
