I was just wondering, if anyone could or would share thier thoughts on the .net vs. .com.

Is there as good potential to make decent money with a .net if you can't get the .com you want?

Any thoughts?

Doing a search on Namepros you will find most appropriate answers to your question.
However, the conclusion is NO. That's because even if you develop the .net most people will naturally type the .com in the end.
This is the most common answer but writing this reply to you I was wondering: ...if things are this way what is happening with all the other tlds and cctlds?

Right, when judging undeveloped names

.com always wins

If its a developed site, the extention wont matter
