I am hearing that .org is now better than .net as far as values. Any thoughts? If so what are you using as the price 5 or 10% of the .com?

Not true. Where do you get your information?
.net is a better extension than .org.
Doesn't makes sense to use a .org if you are not an organisation.
Its like owning a .tv if you have no video on your site..

I see many small businesses using .Net and generally .Org is not used by businesses but rather by charitable or volunteer organizations. However, my experience with .Net has been that .Net domains are difficult to sell unless priced very modestly - thus I stopped searching for expiring .Net some time ago, just renewals of my best remaining domains or an occasional reg fee acquisition when doing bulk searches. I have only had a small number of .ORG domains but the sell-through rate of .ORG has beaten all other extensions by far even .COM.

Interesting. Can you be more specific re what is "a small number"? Also another member has resurrected the "Official .ORG" discussion thread in the gTLD forum which I think is great and I invite you to help get it re-energized. I'm amazed there was no other post since 2011.

each name stands on it's own

to generalize that .net is worth more than .org, is foolish thinking.

and yes, I have sold a .org for 5 figures

Regarding my .ORG sales we are dealing with a small sample size because again I don't go through .ORG expiring name lists in an attempt to backorder them. .COM and .Net are the primary extensions for business. I have just picked up a handful of .Org either because they were available in a Namejet auction and no one else placed a serious bid on them or I was renewing a domain in another extension and noticed the .ORG available for reg fee. In one other case I picked up a one-word .ORG on a forum for ~$100. So I have had three high $XXX sales (all passive) and only have four remaining .ORG domains three of which are one-word domains. It is possible I may have let a few drop at some time in the past. I don't recall as again .ORG was never a focus.

I registered WebEnglish.org for educational purpose: Distance Learning; publish video material; sharing school/university experiences; ecc

This is the only .org I got just for the sinergy: Web + English :xf.wink: ... and because the extension ..com was unavailable.
