I have a buyer that is interested in one of my domain names he told me $1 000 then i replied $2 000 then he told me he need to think about it but he will let me know.
It's been 8 days and still no reply what should i do?
I guess if i reply i become the weak person and he think i'm urgent to sell and he might say 1.5k or even 1k and that he cant afford more...

Being new to this then I dont want to give you wrong advice but its like any kind of sales of which I have done my fair share. You have to ask yourself a number of questions:

DO I NEED TO SELL? If you answer NO to this then YOU are in the stronger position, sit back and wait, if you answer YES then you need to ask the following:

IF I NEED TO SELL BUT DO NOT SELL TO HIM FOR 1k THEN AM I CONFIDENT THAT I COULD FIND A BUYER EASILY TO PAY THE SAME OR MORE? If the answer to this is YES then sit back and wait for his reply, if the answer is NO then it might be wise to contact him back and try and settle for the 1K.

You dont want to sound weak but dependent on your own situation you dont want to lose a potential buyer either by scaring them off, it always good to maximise earnings but I always work on some money is better than no money at all.

hes either making you sweat or got other options. not everybody need a name right now. the good thing is he has giving you a nice reason to email him back. You can ask if he "thought about it". That might be when he gives you the $1200 the best I can do type of bump. Then you take it or you dont. 8 days is plenty of time, i would contact today or tomorrow. Fri too close to weekend to me. Not to mention holidays almost here

If your domain get's a 1000 USD offer it must a good domain. This means it will probably get more offers in the future. I wouldn't do anything unless you need the money. In that case you could email back and say something like you decided that you can do $1800.

By the way, I like your domain clap.com very much.

I sell plenty of domains.
Email me the domain and I will tell you the minimum I would take.

I disagree with your initial statement. Any domain can be good if it matches what someone needs in particular.

If I have a name & it is useful to a very select few, it will be good to them & not so much to other. If that is the case here, one can't just assume other opportunities to sell would come along.

I would wait it out for a week or two and then email him asking if it's something you guys could negotiate about.

He will either say yes or no.

He might only have $1000 to put into it and chances are you spent either 1/10th or 1/100th of that on the domain, so it might be best to cut your losses and let him know you understand he is firm and it's around Christmas time.

I think it's been said pretty well above by many ppl. You own clap.com so I assume you have a good amount of domains to sell. Sell if you need cash or not. Or try around $1500. I dunno the domain but $1.5k looks reasonable.

my experience is that chances are the buyer probably moved on, but who knows might be worth a follow up email

From my personal end user experiences in the past I would also say the buyer may have moved on. Many times you only get one chance to nail that sale and when the buyer knows you are asking too much he starts to hesitate. People change their minds all the time and that one day he may have really wanted it and was willing to pay $1k for it. When the opportunity was passed up on he may have moved on.

Would definitely be worth a follow up email though. I don't know how good the name is but personally I would have probably taken the $1k. Especially this time of the year and in this economy. Unless it is a really premium or generic name I think $1k sounds pretty reasonable.
