Hi guys,

I set up my first website called Treatment For Mental Illness, as a .com

I used WordPress with the Niche Adsense Theme. Installed WordPress SEO and tailored my three posts (about 500 words each) to get 70-80% SEO and 1.0-2.0% for my particular long tail keyword. Focused on a different keyword in each article. I also added a page called Resources which is linked to my Amazon Store showcasing anxiety-related products.

I submitted a sitemap to Google and noticed that my stats suddenly went up with long times on the site, so I did a search on my domain and I'm in third place. But when I search for my long tail keyword I'm nowhere to be found.

What should my SEO focus be? Each post has one image with alt tags that have my long tail keyword, title and meta description both have it as well.

Issues-wise, I notice my title has the title twice, not sure if I would be penalized for that. And instead of having each article as a page, I've gone blog-style with each article in full on the front page. Would I be penalized for that?

So I basically have two pages, do I get favored better for having more than one page? Is 1500-1600 words of content not enough?

Or does it take time for Google to determine a ranking for a new site? Think I only got submitted two days ago.

I've also put my main article up on EzineArticle, just waiting for it to be submitted which will hopefully get me a bit more favor with Google.

Oh and my articles are all unique, one I paid for, and the other two were PLR articles that I did a major rewrite on and expanded on.

Please let me know any suggestions, resources, advice, etc.

Thanks!

Keep your articles SEO optimized. Check out for errors and make them as neat and genuine as possible. Also make the article topic circulate around a single Keyword as well in order to allow it's proper ranking. Also maintain a specific, preferrably greater than 2%, keyword density in the article.

Hello! Fellow newbie here :)

As far as I have worked with my Wordpress site, it is recommended to have a good SEO plugin. All in One SEO or SEO by Yoast would do the task pretty awesome-ly.

I believe it takes time for Mr. Google to properly rank new sites. You should probably setup Google Webmasters account along with Analytics to track the ins and outs.

I also like to be on the safe side by publishing more articles on a bi-weekly or even monthly schedule.

That's all that I can think of. Everyone is open to correct me. Oh and, if possible do update me about the state of your site. :)

Wish you success!

As you said this is new website Google takes some time to rank new site in search engine because of trust factor matter here when your website has increase their authority and it be old than trust will be build that makes your site more visible in search engine. You are posting in ezine that has become good source to get traffic on your blog.

Thanks guys, yeah I always optimize my site for a particular long tail keyword using a premium WP plugin. And put an article on ezinearticles. I also aim to write a new article every week or so in the beginning.

Question, posts are classed as articles when clicked on right? Should I have my front page only showing snippets? That way when people view the site they can then click to go to the relevant article they want? And do posts get seen as a page by Google?

Or should I be planning to have my main article on the front page and each article as a page listed in the top menu? This option limits me in the number of articles I can have. That way each page is ranked on a particular long tail keyword.

Thanks!
