Hey Everyne,

I found this website and was hoping this would be the place to get some help with my domain. I own a number of domains but I have a question about one in particular. It's a great domain name that I have owned since 1994. I am the original owner. I used it for my business and now that I am no longer doing that particular business, I am looking for other options for my domian. This is what I am thinking:

1 - Sell it outright if I can get a lot of money for it (6 figures)
2 - Rent it
3 - use it to generate an income with ad sales??

I would appreciate some advice on this. If I try to sell it, do I go the auction route? Should I just try to contact companies directly? I've been contacted a number of times but I've always turned down the offers. I've tried the domain parking route as well with a and wasn't very happy with the results.
Please help out if you can. It seems like everyone on this forum is very knowledgeable.

Thanks!

Stacey

Whoa, that is one nice domain.

FruitBaskets.com went for $142,500

Basket.com is much much better.

That should give you a better idea on how much basket.com worth.

Mid $xxx,xxx is my guess.

This thread would be best in appraisal section

1) Definitely read up here on NamePros, and look at sites like NameBio.com for the prices similar names sold for to get an idea of its true worth if you're planning on selling it. (or if you're pressed for time, I'll wire you $1000 today...? :) )

You can always list it in marketplaces, such as Sedo.com, without a fixed price to see what sort of offers come in.

2) In my opinion, you'd have a hard time leasing out this name- if it's getting traffic you might as well park it yourself, if not it may be difficult to find a user for the name- as they may not want to build up traffic and eventually loose it when the lease expires.

3) Parking revenue- how much traffic (visitors) does the name get, if there are substantial numbers it may be worthwhile parking, even if you plan to sell the name it could be a good idea to park in the interim. Do a search

There's also an option 4- develop a new site on the domain. It's a gorgeous name with loads of potential. I'd certainly enjoy the opportunity to plan/work on such a name.
