Need help setting up PayPal shopping cart

hello. i lost a little bit with this.
i have html page which is going to sell a e-book and would like to put a simple paypal "buy it now" button on it. i am not going to use paypal pro option, just standart one. How does this work?
am i understanding correct? i need to put an html code provided by paypal on my page. customer will click on "buy it now" and will go to paypal's website to make a purchase. The question is, after he will pay, how he will download a book? Paypal will redirect it to the another page of my site, where the download link is? or do i need to put an actual file's link instead of redirection link? And one more question, where/how do you normally store (hide) files from which you sell downloads, so it will not be openly available for everybody?

The simple method is to redirect back from Paypal to an html page with the download link. That way you can change the location of this html page after time intervals. But this is far from secure.

You could use any of a few hundred options, depending on your requirements.

Buy now buttons are not the solution for download payments as the download url can be directly accessed losing you revenue and bandwidth.

There are shopping carts - VirtueMart with Joomla and Cubecart, which will allow you to do this on your own with a secure download system which will eliminate the need for further manual url edits.

All depends on the number of products.
