I've sold couple domains on ebay before.. single domain auctions only. my question about selling a larger lot of domains in one auction.. 100+. the buyer has good feedback and seems okay.. I even called ebay to check up on this offer and they confirmede it looks good...however, he specifically requests all the domains be given transfer codes after ebay transaction+payment... so he can transdfer them to registrar of his choice.

what do you conclude from this?

I mean he will pay a lot of money for them to transdfer out of godaddy to another registrar.. this isn't a free push... maybe it means he has some promo at some other registrar? or do you think it mean he's fradulent...??

I know ebay will offer seller protection so essentially even if his payment is fraudulent and removed from my paypal, ebay will essentially pay me from their pocket if I show them doamins are no longer in my name.

we're talking about a relatively small amoutn of money at around 1k total pyment.. and with a profit margin for me that is hardly worth the trouble for me.. however, this gives me a chance to shrink my portfolio by 30% with no loss and even small profit.. so that'd really work for me right now.. hence I am giving this some attention.

thanks a lot for any help!

It does not have to mean he is a fraud. Some people simply have their own register, and want all domains in one place. I have had customers like this before, they want it in their register, and only then do they consider the domain handed over.

here is shot of buyers feedback.. and the 22 transactions made this month seem all to be domain deals.. from same seller.. and the seller has left all good feedbacks for those deals too.

it's really his insistance on transfering out so many domains instead of an easy quick push at world's most famous registrars that raises a flag for me. but.. I guess we all have our reasons for transfer vs push.

okay well.. this is too tempting for me so I'll go ahead and accept offer. before he changes his mind lol. I guess most peopleo take a loss to shrink porotoflio by 30%.. I'll be making 200$ on it (ya I know.. sorry.. first year domainer here)
:)

let's hope it works out.

now the million dollar question.. :) cause I never had to do bulk godad transfers.. can I get godad transdfer out codes in bulk???? or do I need to do this one by one??? tht would utterly suck.

thanks for your input!

As someone who sold on ebay from 1999-2011 I can guarantee ebay protects the buyer over the seller, due to their business infrastructure.

But I had sold for large sums using PayPal to art dealers that I verified.

TBH Once he has paid and the money has cleared, make sure it's not a eCheque. Then you can welcome his wishes as a customer and grant the codes.

I mean you'll have to release the auth codes anyway?

You could always enquire for more verification or go off site and use Escrow.

Best of luck!

regarding the bulk auth codes, yes at GD you can create and export an Export list for the domains you want to, and even select which fields to export including auth codes.... good luck!
