Need a license quick to keep my .pro names

Last year I had purchased some .pro names through Godaddy's tdnam auction. Today I got an email from the registrar that says I have to give them my professional license number. Uh oh. I didn't know that was required and when I bought them at tdnam, I was never warned about it upon purchase (yes, I should have looked further into the tld myself).

So I'm sitting here without a license of any sort and don't have a lot of time to get one. Anyone have any ideas what I can to do satisfy this requirement before the names get deleted?

On transfer hold now while they wait to get my professional license #.

I'm curious to see what will happen. Do they revoke domain names for lack of license or do they freeze them forever Neustar-style ?

They say they will be deleted.

Here's what the dot pro site states you must be:

โ€ขA person or entity who provides professional services
โ€ขAdmitted to or licensed by a government certification body or
jurisdictional licensing entity recognized by a governmental body that regularly verifies the accuracy of its data
โ€ข In good standing wit the licensing authority

You could check with your city/county to inquire about a business license, dba, etc., that would give you a no.
Usually that's just a matter of paying a small fee. Registrant can be a person or an entity.

Is not a DL license issued by a jurisdictional/government licensing entity that regularly verifies the accuracy of its data?

I think auction and used domain sites should be required to point out this requirement. You wouldn't be the first to be caught out.

The problem is they also want the following and the DBA would not work. I do have a LLC number, but that won't work either as far as I know.

In addition, registrants will be asked to provide the following information related to their professional eligibility:

- Identification
- Contact information
- Profession-specific information such as ID number

Absolutely. And these are some reasonably valuable names. Sold one for about $5K, and put $3K into the ones I still have.

Guess I'll need to "partner" up with someone I can find that has a license. For example, a friend with real estate license. Just hate to ask. (Imagine the idea that someone with a real estate license is more of a "pro" than a domain name investor!).

Just explain to them your field of business, and that you need the domain for your business. They will more likely understand, and allow you to keep the domain.

Can't you manufacture that yourself ??

I mean how about if you are a freelancer ?? Freelancers do not have license numbers or IDs or business permits. I don't even think they pay income taxes.

That might work if I only had only one name, but there are a dozen.
