NameSilo - Issues with Contact Email Verification

Apparently as a new account holder, I've discovered there seems to be a problem with NameSilo triggering emails for me to verify contact details to newly registered domains.

They've been working on this all week. Getting back saying this should be working and it simply doesn't.

Going with this experienced registrar, not only is this far too consuming to do. They say they will deactivate domains that have not had contact details verified in 15 days forward of registration. While claiming to notify customers every 4 days to do so. Although I have gotten none. And all other support emails they have sent reached me.

Anyone else having similar with them?

Now that it has been over a week since I 1st reported this very basic issue. To give an update for those considering the NameSilo service component -- seems I need to push this every step of the way...

What I did not say before, is that when I first reported the issue. Based on their reaction, was that I was left with a clear impression that this could be a known issue with customers having recently established accounts.

As my inability to verify domain contact details though their website still hangs in limbo...nothing resolved.

Look to their home page and you'll see a claim, to the effect...World Class 24/7 report, listing a phone number that when you try, only plays a message.

Apologies for the delay and inconveniences caused by this issue. It appears that this is a technical issue requiring our developers to investigate, which is why it's taking longer. But our support staff will reach out with an alternate solution in the meantime to address the urgent WHOIS contact info verification.

I have confirmed that my contact details are correct via support email. Now am waiting for them to acknowledge this fact and confirm that my names won't be deactivated...

This has been more than a simple inconvenience.

Hey @namesilo I went to login into my account today and was asked for an auth code because it detected a "new device". But not receiving any emails directly from Namesilo for some reason, nor are you receiving any. However the chat agent was able to send me one through a third-party, and no issues from other companies to my address.

It took like 45 minutes for me to be able to finally able to manage my domains thanks to an extremely helpful chat support dude.

If you guys could get this resolved.

Would you guys prefer a dedicated Namesilo issues thread?

Apologies for the trouble experienced verifying your device. The easiest solution here would just be to configure 2FA on your account and that way, you will not need to receive any emails to verify new devices going forward. The reason for this extra check is to prevent unauthorized account access and secure your domains with us.

So long as we're tagged on the thread, we'll investigate and respond. Every member seems to have their own preferred communication method, so we do our best to reply on those specific threads/channels.

Thanks @namesilo

My "device" is a computer. The 2FA you offer via Twilio Authy is only available for mobile phones.

So, how am I able to access my account now anytime I need to? Using the credentials I already have within my account settings?

We suggest Authy as an option but you can use any 2FA app that you prefer. You'd just need to scan the QR code or enter the setup key accordingly and then verify the code on your NameSilo Account Settings page to save.

Otherwise, yes, you'd continue accessing your account using your existing credentials.
