I know there's been live streams provided previous years, with mixed quality I've read.

Is there anything this year? If so, I have not been able to find any information on it. Please share.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
well there were some great names.. except they didn't meet reserve
You could have the best names in the world, but if a name like burb.com is not going to be sold with a $225K bid, then what's the point of putting on the auction. Given lots of names were 1 bid under their reserve, I would love to know who was bidding tens, to hundreds of thousands of dollars, then holding back on a single bid to activate the sale, kind of questions integrity of the auction a bit?

Man I would have paid $2k for ColdRemedies! So good

WOW!! ColdRemedies.com for 1.5K what a literal steal!!

JM.ORG for 9.5K, a solid buy IMO

Calories.com 100K , a solid buy IMO

Latinos.com 60k , a solid buy IMO

Diagnose.com 60K , a solid buy IMO

Namescon needs to go to a class to learn how to pick good names for the auction.
All they do now is checking the traffic from ParkingCrew to decide which names will be selected.
Traffic means nothing if they are not quality names.

54% sell thru rate for a live auction, at the biggest domain event of the year, is kind of lackluster, the room looked bored, not much excitement, obviously the wrong names are going in, or only submit ones with no reserves. I am sure plenty of submissions went thru, seeing names like tatoo.me being an obvious tricky typo in the live auction is really a waste of time of the bidders online, and in house, and it showed towards the end when the room looked like a ghost town.

Yeah they emptied out, 33 domains through the first hour, 79 after two hours were auctioned. I was surprised Tatoo.me sold @vinsdomains.com got it so hope he does well with it.

The audio/video is choppy, and painful. Looks like many of the lots are being passed up, not good for a live auction, I watched maybe 20 lots, then it got boring. Many names got to just 1 bid under selling, but nobody stepped up, kind of like namejet:-s

You are not missing out on anything, there are no bargains of sorts from what I have seen.

I saw one namepros member had singl.es in auction which they paid close to $900 for, and it sold for $1200, by the time they pay their commission, they going to be right back to square 1.

Asheville dot org seemed like a good price for the buyer...

I had my eyes set on ArtDesign(.)com and TechM(.)com, but both went above my budget.

Thanks for the complete list @equity78.

I have not followed the auction very carefully, but it seems to me price-wise mixed results. Some names definitely went for a lot, considering that most buyers are domainers, I presume? Others seemed to me good deals. A lot of owners turned down high bids I would have accepted.

It seems to me that med (.org) was a good deal for buyer.
Same for recreation (.org).

Singl(.es) is a very nice and valuable domain hack. Price not so high hopefully someone can make a good profit.

I like the rides (.co) name a lot, ride sharing, amusement rides, vehicles and more.

A lot of solid bids were passed over. Not sure how to achieve it, but an auction with fewer Passed would help keep excitement better.

Just to show how innocent I am in modern world, I had no clue what sensimilla was until I Googled it :xf.eek:. When I first saw it I wondered how that in .club possibly made the auction. Now I know.

Icebergs at first surprised me, but the more I think about it, very nice word. Could work well for various tourism ventures around iceberg viewing, or a fantastic brand for a strategic consulting firm that helps businesses navigate the unseen parts of icebergs. Lots of great visual imagery to promote icebergs.

Interesting to see Asheville in the auction, given Rick's Meetup.

Seems rather few new extensions (only 2 I think?) or country codes (a .co, a .de, an .me and one .es) reached the live auction.

Thanks again for the reporting @equity78

I think AlcoholTreatment dot com was the biggest surprise for me. 32K. That's a big number for that domain, IMO (if it went to a reseller, anyway).

or any refrigeration industry. ice is a necessity long after we are gone. Great investment in my opinion. Slow gain, but itll be a 5 figure soon enough.

Considering nobody is really talking to much about it, even this thread is pretty dead, and the top 3 names made up the majority of the bids, with about 54% sell thru, I don't think it was a success at all. Nobody was even all that entertained, hopefully Godaddy takes it over 100%, and totally revamps it as right now the highlight of the show, has become really nobody cares about.

You had people ready to spend, and you couldn't get them to spend, they can turn around today and spend $100K on the open market, you have to give them an incentive, and reason to bid, nobody really cared to be honest.
Agree about the lack of interest but giving GoDaddy full control wouldn't be a good idea in my opinion. They'd likely manage to stuff it up completely. Though it couldn't get much worse now...
