This site has been extremely difficult for me to navigate -- I spent close to 10 minutes looking for the correct place to post this thread. That being said, I may have missed this -- but is there anyway to get an idea of names that have actually sold on NamePros? Occasionally I will run across a post listing available domains with a SOLD next to it -- but auctions -- is there any organization of what's sold and for what cost?

Is there something behind the scenes (yes, always) that I'm missing? I get the impression that even at rock bottom prices, there aren't many actual "public" transactions. Maybe because I can't see what the success/completion rate is. How many name submission requests are actually satisfied from NamePro respondents? It would be great to know what was bought and for what price. Even blindly - with few details, if it's sensitive information.

And how many sale listings for make an offer - get an offer and make a deal. Occasionally I've seen a response with a number and a question mark but that's probably all PM'd (and may be why this information is perhaps not possible to gather without a buy-in from members).

I get that privacy is important here -- I'm not asking for information that isn't already posted, just closure. Maybe private sales could still be cryptic enough to be protective but still offer enough feedback that members would find valuable.

Such as -- "47 domains were sold this month -- 28.coms, 3 .nets, etc. ranging from m $1.00 to $3700." And maybe -- "Top seller was wedonthaveenoughpeopletodothatsh*t.com"

I think I exchanged some correspondence with Eric Lyons and I recall something about it being looked at, but so far (this was well over a year ago) difficult to wrangle for a number of reasons -- manpower to technology. Memory may not be reliable.

I am on this site to learn and do/offer research. Originally, I hoped it would be a source for wholesale sales and purchase. I've stopped posting listings and don't bother responding to requests because it doesn't seem worth it. And yes, I am aware that all the aforementioned depends on the name, etc., etc. And I've seen some good ones here - at least competitive with Flippa, GoDaddy prices/quality but yet no takers. At least publicly. And PM's are private so maybe it would involve polling members and just 'a'int going to happen. I imagine someone can enlighten me.

Maybe the liquid category does well. I see requests for 5 letter dot coms offering a budget of up to $10 per name and I'm thinking, is that realistic? So I'm wondering if anyone else would like to see this? Or where I might find this kind of information if it is here and I missed it? Or whatever feedback is offered.

I don't come here much anymore because even with a search I have trouble pulling up what I'm looking for and isn't from like 2009, so it's kind of like going to facebook and flipping around like reading a gossip magazine while waiting in a checkout line at a store. Which makes me wonder if I should downgrade my membership and pay for premium Medium.com (also $5 a month) which at least goes towards paying writers.

I have read some great stories here though! Thanks

We're very sorry to hear that. We've categorized and named the forums as best as we could come up with, and many sites have copied us, but we would love nothing more than to make it even better.

If you have time, it would really help us if you could outline specifics about what makes it difficult to navigate for you.

The information is available if a seller decides to publish it in this section:
The only other option is to watch the auctions carefully (use the "Watch Thread" link on the auction thread itself) and then you'll know when it closes and what it sold for:
However, the majority of sales that take place on NamePros are in direct messages, so again, unless the buyer or seller decides to publish it, no one will know about it.

    A lot, but a lot aren't, too.

    Watch this:

There are over 10,000 posts/messages generated each day on NamePros, and only a computer program could realistically and feasible process that amount information. However, that's not possible because a computer program is not capable of determining this information on its own in 2018 from posts/messages.

Here's another one for you watch:

That's the goal of the Domain Name Sales section: to encourage members to share their sales.

We surely would, and it's probably safe to say most members agree. Unfortunately, it's not possible with the data we have. The data has to be structured (separated into price, domain, etc. fields/columns) in order for the data to be available. While we could start offering that capability (input fields), only members that want to publicize the information would fill them out, and at that point, they could just post in a thread or create a thread to share the same information. In other words, not much more would be shared than is already being shared.

However, a lot is being shared in the Domain Name Sales section. Check it out.

Due to the quantity of content on NamePros, there are two solutions that are necessary to know before you begin searching:
    1. You have to use the Advanced Search for most things: that allows you to sort by "most recent" first, exclude older threads, specify which forums you want to look within (generally, you only want to search the discussion forums near the top), etc.
    2. Use Google. Google is a multi-billion dollar company that has invested billions in their search capability. No website can do a better search, including NamePros or anyone else. We try, but there's no substitute. When you search Google, begin with site:namepros.com and then enter your search keyword after it, like this: site:namepros.com UDRP
Lastly, if you need help with anything, please contact our customer support team so that we may assist you. We're always happy to help.

    Hi,
Once you've done a basic search, you can 'search again' and then order by most recent, or click 'more' in the search box to bring up advanced options.

That's a little different. Sales reported on Namepros (could be direct, Sedo, Flippa etc) vs. sales that actually happened on Namepros. Sales that actually happened on Namepros would be much harder to get unless you watch threads and make note when a sale happens, before it might get edited out. And most probably don't want those sales public.

Yes, but who most wouldn't want it public, buyers and sellers that particular month ?w And what percentage of the membership is represented in those numbers? And I am speaking about NamePros sales only. And why not, if it were cloaked? Domain name, identity, even price. Just guesstimated.
Maybe no one is interested in it, but I want to get the real scoop - if there is such a thing - how many of the people who are "successful," are making these deals, and where are the deals being made (most not recorded on Name bio) because stake holders want people to stay in the industry, buy and park domains. What I see selling and for what price at like GoDaddy has depreciated more than 50%. Names that may have brought in 5 figures selling for under $300. Sure, things go in and out of fashion, but I sure would like to know what's happening mid-low level -- say $500 - $1200?

It would be a cool thing to know, sales that actually happen here at Namepros and once in a blue moon they might be posted in this thread, the big sales thread - https://www.namepros.com/threads/report-completed-domain-name-sales-here.83628/page-610

I just looked for the past month and didn't see any.

I think most sales here are probably low, domainer to domainer/reseller type prices, can't imagine too many big sales happening here. And probably a lot of them will just be resold here again, so many, again, just might not want those sales public.

So unless somebody willingly posts those sales, I think the only other option is to watch them and try to get them manually.

You make excellent points, and it would be great to have access to that data. Part of the problem may be time: it takes time to report sales and verify them. Additionally, if the sales are cloaked/masked, then verification becomes more time consuming or impossible, which leads to the data being skewed by bad actors (example).

That's the ole' freak/outlier type sale. It's like the other thread today, people getting excited by the freak my.bio sale.

Get together the top sales that happened at Namepros for April 2018. Post that.

They are rare publicly, but they happen more frequently in direct messages:

    Wish we could. :)
