Namecheap won't tell me who accessed my account and changed nameservers

I submitted a ticket 2 days ago, received no answer so I replied the next day with no answer and now today there still is no reply.

A domain in my account was accessed (I have 2-factor authorization on) and nameservers changed to Afternic, ( I do have it listed there as well). The domain is still in my account.

Opened up a chat dialogue and they told me to submit a ticket to the risk management dept. so I did. No response.

I just wanted an explanation of what actually occurred.

The way I found out was through an email notification that I had a login and nameserver change. (They provided an IP address and it was not from me.( Which I knew already)

Doesn't seem like anything else happened but I would like an explanation.

Just wanted to report this news here if it helps anyone know what kind of support is not happening there.

If this belongs elsewhere in a different section, please move.

I've been using them for over a year with no other issues.

I previously dealt with their Risk Management department. Several times it took a month for them to respond, and that was with my ticket set to High Priority.

Please feel free to reply here or DM me with your ticket number and I can have your ticket expedited if it hasn't been responded to already. There's a heavy volume of tickets in that department right now, which can cause delays in getting a rapid reply, but you WILL get one. I can help speed things up.

You are most likely going to have to jump through some hoops to prove your identity and be required to change your password if you havenโ€™t allready done so. That dept is non existent on the weekend by the way.

We're around 24/7/365 actually. Once I get the ticket number, the OP will receive a reply if he hasn't already.

Received an update from the risk department and they replied that they did not see any unauthorized activity in my account.

That is contrary to what the fellow on the support chat had told me and contrary to the email notifications of a login and nameserver change.

They are forwarding my ticket to the domain department for further investigation.

Can't imagine why they would find something when risk management couldn't, but I'll wait and see.
