Namecheap whoisguard billed

after transferring domains out, namecheap still keep the "ghost" domain in your account. The worst part, sometime they charge you the whoisguard renewal even you no longer keep the domains at namecheap. Does this happen to anyone else here?

Hmm, I can't say that I've ever had that problem. Is it possible that the transfer hasn't completed yet? Transfers take several days, and I'm pretty sure they'll charge you if your domain is up for renewal while the transfer is in progress.

I've always gotten quick, helpful responses from support, so you should try talking to them. If it's a bug, they'll probably get it sorted out quickly.

That does happen with Namecheap. Their system seems to be having "synchronize" issues from time to time. If you contact tech support via chat, they will synchronize it and it will gone.

The whoisguard is a separate product from the domain. Meaning you can be charged for it, even if it is not protecting anything.

Just make sure whoisguard is not set to "Auto Renew". They cannot charge you for something you "specifically" indicated you will not renew. If they did (for some reason caused by system bug), ask for a refund.
