I thought I would offer a simple concept here to those heavily involved in this extension. For those (myself included) who have many names that would like to sell/buy but either don't like the money being offerred or don't have anymore money to buy, why not trade for names with eachtother. Simply out, we should define the types we are looking for to eachother, and then see if we can trade names that both parties believe to be equal in value. I just think so many have great names, but it could mean more to me than them. Or, looking at it another way, if we all value .tv so much, names should have as much bargaining power as money.


Thought: Exchanging names instead of money. May be better than holding onto a good name you have no use for but allow you to get something you would.


Just a thought..I think we could start posting threads in the marketplace sub-forum for trading

I have tried this and been offered this many times..........one side or the other seldom feels like they are getting the best deal.

As in, I was trying to trade a generic keyword with high overture and google. In return I was offered something very niche specific with less than a million hits in google and practically nothing in overture.

I asked about one of the other parties better keywords and was shot down, even though mine was higher returns of searches.

It's tougher negotiating then for money. I am not saying I am not willing, but all parties have to be willing to give up value, and not just their crap names.

I agree Bulldog, most likely someone will place even a slightly higher value on their domain. You really need to have someone getting out of a niche and another wanting to get into that specific niche. Example: Someone wanting to get out of adult may trade straight up a good adult domain for a Geo. Or someone with product .tv who wants to get into the Geo.tv or Adult.tv

I agree, I have never been offered a "good" trade. Only names that pale in comparison. I too am willing, but its really tough to find an equal value.
