I am making my domain portfolio site and need a name :) I have my business site, xxxx.biz (web & IT related). What would u choose:

a) domains.xx.biz
b) domainmarket.xxbiz
c) DN.xx.biz
d) somethingother.xx.biz
e) To reg or buy (cheap) domain name like domaincourtyard or whatever (all good names are taken or selling high)
f) To buy quality domain name - not an option right now :(

Tnx :)

I would have to agree here. There are a lot of good names still out there for reg if you take the time and just try to find them. Good luck to you!

"D Dots" for Domains!

Let's invent (and start to brand) the "D Dots" (like "M Dots" for the burgeoning Mobile Web™ ) ... accordingly, I choose your d.xxxx.biz :!: :tu: :imho:

Best of Luck.

Thank you all for your replies!
Yes, I know i can find some nice available *domain*.com, and i know that xx.xx.biz looks a bit "clumsy", but i was thinking that domains.xx.biz or DomainMarket.xx.biz still sounds more friendly and nice then, for example, DomainGarden.com. Huh, still not sure... tnx once again for your help :)

Domainxxxxx.com or xxxxxDomains.com are probably better than a subdomain off a .biz domain. You should search TDNAM for domains containing "domain", "name", or beginning with "DN". You can sure pick up a reasonable domain name. Or reg one of your own for regfee.

Yes, I would try hand-regging a suitable .com. I'm sure you can find something that works well but you'll have to look carefully because we are domain collectors after all and we just can't resist collecting some "domain" domain names. :hehe: Most of the names out there are not worth buying for the price when there are ones of similar quality available, and that's especially if you don't have a large budget to start out with.

I would look to reg/buy another name rather than the above.

If you're interested in it, I just let DomainMercantile.biz (mercantile = market) expire and you can have it if you want to pay the renewal fee of $7.49 so I can push it to you.

...or post a "portfolio name" wanted ad in the domains wanted section
you can list a low price if it's all you can afford right now
;)

You can also look for LLLL.COM they are usually well decoded.
I saw lately at TDNAME auction, 4letter like MDNX.COM

"Million Domain Names eXchange"
"Market of Domain Names and eXchange"
"Mega Domain Names eXpress"
"Multi Domain Names eXperience"

.asia is the way to go, you just can't go wrong with any name that you register in .asia

Consider making a thread in the Domains Wanted section asking for people to send you names which would be suitable for a Domain Name website. You may get some offered to you that are great that you would never have though about asking for otherwise.

What domain market are you targeting? A short .com beginning with "DN" seems like the most logical cost effective solution for a site targeting the whole domain name market. DNXpert.com is a good example of a successful site based on this example.

Now I don't think this part of my answer is going to be very popular, but... Sometimes I think too much emphasis is placed on particular domain names. If money's tight, I'd focus much more on hiring someone reasonably competent to make sure your domain gets properly indexed in search engines, advertising with Google Adwords for relevant keywords, and hiring someone if necessary to make sure you have good content + site design. Spending excessively on a domain name comes after all that imho. If money was no problem, I'd say get an LLL.com. Nothing says domainer like an LLL.com :)

I like domains.xx.biz very much. If you cannot register and think of suitable and good .com this should be the one.
