Name.com $0.99 Promo Advertising

Well looks like name.com is doing a little false advertising!

I found a great promo on their website offering domains from .99 cents...when I tried to register said domain I was always being charged $0.99

I called support and alas, they had heard of no such promotion - even though it was on their homepage!

Looks like the only domain they are offering for 0.99 is the .cn extension which wouldn't be false advertising. Could be the agent also wasn't aware of the new sales promo as my cable company works the same way. You can only get certain sales online vs the telephone as there are two different departments under the same umbrella company.

I gotta say, this is the kind of stuff that on a Sunday morning just bums me out.

Clearly this is a error on our part. But man, we've got feedback options all over the place to bring this to our attention - on our front page we've got the GetSatisfaction Widget, we've got the CEO's email address on the website, etc.

I don't know what happened when you rang us up - how it was phrased, etc that it didn't get to me to get fixed, but maybe you could have given us the benefit of the doubt that it was an honest mistake and not been so inflammatory here.

We'll get that fixed up tomorrow.

Domains from $0.99 - then look right underneath and then you see .CN being sold for $0.99 (which I registered several :tu

I must say Kellie, it's really nice to see how quickly you always respond to any questions or concerns about Name.com. A lot of registrars really could learn a lot about how to keep customers happy :tu:

I think it is pretty clear from the screen shot that the "from $0.99" is referring to .cn. I think a mod should change the title of the thread as it isn't fair to Name.com. +rep to Kellie for the quick response time.
