With the erratic swings in the cryptocurrency market, it brought to mind that some of my domain investing colleagues might need support.

All joking aside, there are very real and serious consequences for many real people that invested heavily in this market.

I saw a couple of YouTube videos of people that feel they might have invested too much.

I do believe that cryptocurrencies are here to stay, and I know that there are people that invested early enough to be okay even now.

My prayers go out to any of my fellow Domainers that might be locked in for a while.

I also think that every investor should set some type of personal floor limit so as to have a plan if losses must be cut.

I think within next 6 months the lowest price will be between $700-2000. I don't think it will go back to $10k anytime soon.

I think lots of people might be looking for time to get out.
Nope, no one going to get out, the more people get out the more in. The problem is Government & Banks. They don't want to allow fully decentralised money system. Banks are worrying about there roles & fees going to be destroyed.

Recently, Visa treminted all the Cryptocurrency cards provider licence & Indian government telling that they don't accept Bitcoin as a legal tender but they know gov can't stop Bitcoin trading so they want a platform where they know who is trading & what amount is being trading.

well its not really fake forecasts.. its just the simple fact that no one knows where it'll go.
so its all opinions and guesses. that's all it is.

do not bet all your wealth on guesses then.

but if you have some play money u do not care about losing then yeah.. I guess you can go to casino and have some fun or by some cryptos.

domains are different. its only $10 to reg something for whopping one year.. or buy something on aftermarket and then hold it.. its also $10 per year.. yes its a gamble too.. but some knowledge and experience you can minimize risks.. in some cases eliminate them.. whereas in casino or crypto.. even with knowledge.. how much a coin will be worth tomorrow does not depend on you at all.

EXACTLY, nobody knows where YOUR MONEY WILL GO when you waste your money in bitcoin, it could go to some guys pocket in china, japan, usa, panama or even Russia, and that guy will laugh at your face when he enjoys your money...

The bitcoin founders are hidden in the dark, nobody knows them and that's very Shady, Mysterious and Scary at some point.

exactly.
and the fact that btc creation is shrouded in mystery... only helps to fuel suspicions.. theories.. plots.. conspiracies etc..

and yes, no one knows where your money will go.. who profits.. and I also meant that no one knows where coin prices will go... between the moment u go to bed one night.. and wake up the day after.

pretty much a receipe for destruction if you ask me... so I keep away now and stick to domains. at least here I can keep learning, and not repeat same mistakes again. and have some control about my future domain investments/profits/loses. which is much more difficult to do in cryptoworld.

I got about 550 of XRP , bought at $1 each. I hope it will go up soon.

I am with you, I feel bad for them and do wish them luck but I think most of the people really getting hurt and caught with their pants down were trying to get rich quick. Traders of some sort rather than investors. Jumped in on the hype right when it came out of the closet where it had been. Big difference. Investors are more in for the long term, not a short time, especially crypto time which is a blur. Don't jump in without doing research. Don't invest more than you can afford to lose in anything. Just like anything, nobody knows what's going to happen. I am sure I didn't really say anything different than what has been said.
This last little bit has been almost as spectacular as right before Christmas when it rocketed. That was spectacular, this is......jawdropping? It's going to go back up, and rather spectacular I think, but I don't know when. Hopefully they can hodl till then. Besides, it's on sale right now, ain't it?

You should be praying that you’re heavily invested right now. This will be a huge year and upswing for the entire crypto market.

If you’re not invested you should be buying now, you’ve been handed a gift...

If it goes down to about $500 I’m buying some just in case.

I’m not watching the video but that’s an ignorant statement. The underlying technology is a game changer. Those who recognize this and choose to invest will reap the rewards!

Investors buy when markets are low.
Bandwagoners do the opposite

My concern is for good people losing money they can't afford to lose.

As I read articles over the past week (not just follow prices), seems much of the news is negative. This is a real concern for me.
This is called "natural selection" I believe. Like when kids that play hockey in the road get run over.

That's called COMMON SENSE... lol

Natural selection is like people follow the crowd just to be part of the group, team or beliefs. People who "invest" in bitcoin without thinking just because their friends did it. Even if you have smart friends, they could make bad decisions. Its better if you analyze and take your own decisions.

Signs the stock market is about to crash:

(Just use word "Bitcoin" or "Cryptocurrency" instead of "Stock")

1 The slope of the index becomes so vertical:

Right before the stock market crashes the stock market usually climbs very high in a very short period of time that the slope of the curve almost becomes vertical.

2 Everyone talking about the stock market:

Usually before the stock market crashes almost every person, including those who have never thought about investing, starts investing and talking about the stock market. When you start hearing about the stock market everywhere you go, know that a bubble might be so close.

3 Stocks go so high in a very short period of time:

When stocks go so high in a very short period of time without corrections or breath taking, it could be a sign of a coming stock market crash

4 When everyone becomes overly optimistic:

When you start hearing extremely optimistic new prices and people's expectations become too high, know that the stock market is probably about to crash.

5 When stocks trade at multiples of their value:

When stocks trade at multiples of their normal price to book ratio or price to earnings ratio then know that the market might be about to collapse.

6 When stocks keep rising with disregard to the performance of underlying companies:

When the stock prices keep going up even if the underlying companies aren't doing that well, the market might be overvalued and a crash might be on the way.

7 When people become irrational:

When you hear that someone is buying a stock today to make a 20 percent return in a week, and when that truly happens for some people, then know that there is a market bubble.

8 When nobody talks about a crash:

Crashes happen when everyone is so optimistic that no one even mentions a crash. When most people become greedy then it's time to be afraid.

9 When new highs are reached everyday:

Right before a crash, stocks keep rising fast that new highs are seen everyday. This sign, combined with others, can indicate a coming crash.

This.

This could be a good time to at least get some coins in.

Either way the market moves up and down, just sell whatever you’re comfortable at. I do feel bad for whoever bought at $19-$20k for a bitcoin though.

Still a magnificent bubble even at 7k. Not to say a bubble can't sustain itself until it stabilises at some point, but with crypto that point exists in imagination/wishful thinking only. Fortunate many people only got burned at $20k. Had the mania continued through $100k the despair would be overwhelming. Too fucking bad for those suckers, kinda feel like skipping around like "haa, haa, ha-haa, haa. laa, laa, la-laa, la", particularly directed at the losers who kept pumping the optimism generously fucking over even their family and friends and everyone that would listen or wouldn't listen with their endless pestering.

Hey I find the blockchain interesting, but the only thing getting me excited is Ethereum and smart contracts, i.e. free escrow no middle man!

I've only invested into a few ICO's that I thought could become a viable investment long term. Got in low, cents per token and didn't invest that much. Lot's of crap out there so ya never know.
