I just got email from dotasia liaison team.

Giving the reasons of Chinese and Japense golden weeks, dotasia extended auctions by another 2 weeks.

They want to make more money???

It is just frustrating. Just rubbish organization. They should have planned ahead. Should not change things just like that.

No suprises here - sounds like another poorly organized and ran TLD. Just trying to milk a few extra dollars out of everyone. Just one more reason to be highly skeptical.

The Japanese and Chinese are not buying .asia, why would they with .com, .cn, .com.cn,.co.jp, .jp - this extension is doomed to failure unless you have very premium name(s)

Any new extension just adds value to .coms in my opinion

Clue in people - you are buying into a scam! .asia is pure unadultared garbage and this move only emphases that point. Companies get their tm domains at regfee - they know that so now they want to milk(scam) domainers as much as possible. If it were not for domainers buying this trash .asia would be lucky to have 10,000 registrations imo.

The only vocal supporters of this dog are those heavily invested - that should be a hint all by itself.

If the auction of a TLD would be affected by a single country holiday, maybe they should change the extension to .CHINA or .JAPAN

They are really sucks

I am thinking like that too.

No point in extending auctions because of holidays. Otherwise they have to extend another year to cover public holidays of all asian countries.

the domain business is the wild west / east. what did you expect? rules and regulations are made by those in control as they make them up when its convenient for THEM!! Stop fooling yourself! This is one f%$*@#- up industry!

that is the typical way to do business in Asia, rules will always change.

Whether you have premium names or not has no bearing on the success or otherwise of the extension.

Bingo, but you still need content and keywords that are applicable to local markets. And above all else this means being in the applicable language and script of your target market, unless of course you are going to be content with depression mired US of A.

Lol. Asians don't like .asia. Here in Singapore, everyone prefer .com, .net, .sg or .com.sg.

Who does .asia truly benefit, anyway?
