Hello people, I think I finally received my first offer on a domain..
Actually I had other offers before on some domains but due to my newbie status (sometimes beacuse too greedy myself, sometimes were really low ball offers..), I never managed to take them to accomplish
Anyway, for this domain I want to make my first sell. The name is " food / met " . com
I catched it on drop, and I was willing to sell it for low xxx at first, but then, after received the offer (a low xxx), I made a research on dnsaleprice and found that similar domains were sold for minimum 2000..
..domains like foodbowl foodpop foodpic foodpal foodconnect
What do you suggest me to do, do you think the name have the potential to reach the xxxx value of his "cousins"?
At the moment I countered his offer with a mid xxx , but he replied on his original lox xxx+50

thanks!

F

I recommend taking the deal to close your first sale. Every business needs cash to survive, and this will be your first influx of cash (albeit small). Reinvest wisely and repeat. You can hold out for larger amounts once you have more experience and the cash flow to justify that strategy. Right now, your position should be to bring in more money than you're spending. Remember: With sales, you have a business. Without sales, you have a collection of domains (not a business).

I too would suggest you to grab the opportunity for having a decent sale to show on your Portfolio. It would be your decision though, if you think you can convince the buyer a little bit more without losing the offer then go for it. However most experienced domainers suggest to get the first deal complete successfully as quickly as possible decently.

If you need the cash take it. If not set back see where the negotiations go and stay confident.

Agree with the above, first and foremost GET THE SALE.

If you feel you can squeeze a bit more (tread carefully) send an email devoid of any justification of your price and just simply say something like "I was looking for $600, (I'll assume they offered $200), if you can get to $400 you've caught me at a good time so I will agree the sale".

Good luck.

I would take the offer.
In English, "food met" is not a thing.
Maybe in another language, it's a valuable phrase.
But AFAIK it is nothing.
SELL.

Unless your analyzes of the domain really makes you feel you have a winner you should probably sell it to get your feet wet. The reality will probably be its a cousin twice removed.

thank you all for your replies! ..definitevely I will let go the idea to sell for xxxx or even high xxx.. I decided to take some risk anyway and try to take the offer a little up, and see what happen, because I feel I can push it a little bit higher.. hope it works!
