.tv Museos.tv - Worth to hold?

Hi guys,

Well I have this name - museos.tv (non premium) for some time and never had any interest in it.
Means Museums in Spanish.

First I thought it's a great name, than I thought it's a good name and finally I'm thinking should I renew it or not

I don't know Spanish market for .tv's, but I think the keyword is a good one - at least fits the extention.

What do you think about it?

Well, I remember that there was a very nice sale of the gallery or galleries dot tv, so I thought that Museos (even it's in Spanish) could be a good investment.

My idea is that the keyword is very video-related, so why it's bad?

Very specific name that has a limited market. In fact, they have their very own TLD.

It's not a brandable that could be used by generic set of businesses so you're restricted to that use.

You've dropped better.

It's a .TV and they suck but it's available in even suckier extensions .me/.co.uk etc. It's not even developed in the .COM which says something.

I have a couple of these too though One makes almost $1 a month parked though...wow!

Spanish is not a market I know too much about - but I do know that two very important facts:

1. The most popular .tv site on the planet is a Spanish language site - TU.tv

2. Museums are cool.

I would hold off on dropping this name until you took a look at http://www.museum.tv and then decide if the same could happen for the half a billion people who speak Spanish.

It might also be worthwhile if someone could help suggest whether museo or museos is the better form of the name for this purpose.

I don't see tremendous demand for Spanish .TV. My Spanish .TV sales tend to not even be Spanish end users but foreign investors. Museos.tv is the sort of name which you could renew for years and who is going to buy it? But if you drop it I guarantee you someone will pick it up. It's probably worth trying to auction it if you don't want the $25/year renewals.

looks like plural makes critical difference in this particular case:

"The mission of the Museum of Broadcast Communications (MBC) is to collect, preserve, and present historic and contemporary radio and television content as well as educate, inform, and entertain the public through its archives, public programs, screenings, exhibits, publications and online access to its resources. "

the site is a public archive, it's not about museums.. i believe Museums.TV would not fit it at all.. it seems plural form is limited to sites about museums while singular has much wider scope. really nice for TV archive of any kind.

maybe in Spanish it doesn't matter much though..
