So polurnet have been great for 3 years. But just recently they have been suspending my sites - for spam, sending out a news letter. Im not sure what the problem is but it has been fine for the last 3 years so not sure why not now? Its been 40+ hours and my site is still down :\

Any way I think its just best if i move to a VPS? Because it gives me more control. So who is one of the better providers? Have already looked around the polurnet website as I would prefer to stick with them as they do a good service just a few hiccups here and there.

cheers!

I use KnownHost.com for a few sites and would recommend them 100% - they really are a great VPS provider :)

WiredTree seem good too.

Dre, as we told you on the helpdesk, you violated our Acceptable Use Policy by sending a large amount (thousands of messages) of bulk email from our servers. This is expressly prohibited. As a result of the violation, your account was suspended to prevent issues that may be experienced by other customers.

We don't provide a service that includes such email usage on our shared/reseller services; doing so would necessarily lower the quality and reliability of our servers, which is not something our customers appreciate. Shared/reseller hosting services are designed for normal email communication. Marketing and other forms of email advertising must either be done using a third-party mailing list service such as mailchimp.com or icontact.com OR you can opt for a VPS or dedicated server. Our website has a link to where you can find such VPS or other solutions through our sister company, ExcellentHost.

FYI, posting on a forum to complain about your apparent AUP violation will not assist in you. We enforce a similar AUP as other hosts, so you need to be aware of the rules, not the host.

You are right. You might have the same situation with other web hosting providers as well once you break the AUP or TOS. So I believe you need to reconsider the approach you might have

I wasnt complaining - I did say I would want to stick with you guys. FYI - it wasnt thousands of emails. The site has 500+ members. and it took over 40+ hours to get it back up. Simply stop the emails or sending me an email and I would stopped straight away.

So no wasnt I complaining. I can only remember you guys being down once and that was PLANNED as you was making your servers better.

I simply was looking a a VPS and wanted to keep the rest of site with you.

I agree with polur here. If he is violating TOS and are going to do the same with another provider whare that would be considered as well as violation he will need to think how to find the deal.
Be ready to read carefully all TOS

Well. Discuss everything in the presales conversation with yiour web hosting provider. I'd rather recommend have a look at knownhost and serverpoint for the VPS server but again you need to spotlight all sides of your project to make sure
Good luck with your research
BTW polurnet is a good company

Taking into consideration your needs, I think that you will find the best and most affordable VPS hosting solution if you check iwhic.com. When it comes to your personal or business assets being handed off to someone else, like a web host, you have every reason to be diligent in your search. So, find out what is reasonable for your needs and pick something that will support your site on into the future.
