No lists will be posted by myself, no "count down", none of that because it offends domainers on here. So if your interested in seeing availability, please pm me. I've found the best way to avoid the crowd influence is to focus on the facts -- one being watching the daily drops, especially the short names. You'll see who are still investing and where they are from. The fact is, China is the new player. Whether Chinese investors can change the game and revitalize this extension is still yet to see.

You can't dispute the daily sales figures and auction prices, it's true. So far so good in 2016 for short domains. If the economy stabilizes then 2016 should be good.

Heard where? Do you have link to source? The 2 NNN sales are just $211 and $130. This is all Namebio has for this year:

A year ago NNN .mobi wouldn't have sold for those prices above. I'm not talking about keywords or saying buy .mobi, just that there is a pick up in activity.

Look at any drop sites, and weekly sales reports, and domain wanted threads, short domains are still in high demand across most established global extensions.

Still linked to no sources, no specifics whatsoever. And this is specifically a .mobi thread. We're not talking about "most established global extensions". Just .mobi. And actually check Namebio for NNN.mobi sales over the years. Are you saying $130 and $211 are great prices? Because I can list past prices of them selling for more.

Ok, so there were no NNN.mobi sales on Namebio from May 2011 to Oct 2015. Over 4 years, nothing. Now since Oct 2015 there are 14 reported sales between $105 to $317. I'd say that is a pick up in activity and likely it will continue. There are likely unreported sales and people holding onto them, NNN have only so many combinations. I bet many of those that have them are waiting for higher prices and don't want to sell in the low xxx range.

I think I'll hang on to my DBZ.Mobi so for another while. Nearly sold it last year for $30

I picked up 420.mobi on NP for low $XXX a few months back.

By definition it is a pickup in activity, but factor in domainers buying and selling extensions which were not even popular prior to CHIPS, and you have to really reconsider if 14 sales is "noteworthy" activity.

I know you're only talking facts not claiming that mobi is now flying again, but 14 sales is nothing, could be domainers grabbing a few just in case.

We need to see regular sales over a given time, otherwise there is no market or trend to be able to form a value from - a small surge cannot be analysed and means nothing, especially when the increase is from 0 to only a handful.

Only time will tell, and people can only hope/speculate for the time being.


Demand is finite, and even with the Chinese population being vast, I still don't think there are enough to saturate all TLDs. there are many more before mobi for Chinese IMO. They might take the premium ones in all TLDs but that's it.

That was a period it probably wasn't tracked. That site had issues in the past. That site had different owners over the years, the current ones keep it up to date. $130 and $211 is pretty low for a 3N. I know you see the sales year prior but aren't mentioning them.

Here are the ones for 2011:

It's funny you have some sneaky people mention how many regs it averages a day, somebody posting in this thread, but don't mention how many are getting dropped, and that net, it's losing according to the stat sites. You look at the chart below, is that where you want to see the line going? You still have .mobile on deck as well. Last update, this site has them net -312 - http://www.registrarstats.com/TLDDomainCounts.aspx

NNN .mobi went through a strong period then faded. Last few years no one cared about them, but that seems to be changing. Namebio shows other sales of extensions in 2014, 2013, etc, only your guess that sales info is 'missing'. Not surprising 2012 to 2014 were bad years for mobi.

Up to 4N and 4L have likely had net increase of regs. Most people could care less about .mobi keywords and two words, which is where the decrease is happening.

Even in .com, the majority of sales and regs in past year have been in up to 5L/6L and numerics. Growth isn't happening in keywords as much. Sales reports and figures back this up.

It's not my guess, I actually look. Check out .info, .us NNN. You see the same periods of data missing. I've visited the site back in those days and there were times they didn't update at all. And $130 and $211 are still some of the lowest amounts in the history of .mobi NNN. Those are this year's sales. We'll see if they rise this year and can beat previous years. With NNN, only 1,000 of those. You mentioned 4N, last reported sale was in 2011. So, nothing happening there at this point. And for the rest of the .mobis, you don't have much hope for - "Most people could care less about .mobi keywords and two words, which is where the decrease is happening."

If you're saying NNN.mobi are declining in price now, at a time when short numerics are in demand, I'd disagree. Sure years ago they sold well for a time, but there was a period after when they dropped to almost nothing, and even keywords and LLL were dropping. Just the very odd end user sale that would make dn journal.
