MRcasino.net sold for a 240$.. lucky buyer :) (im not the buyer or seller)
Omg, that is crazy. I guess my MRCasino.club would be worth 1$ in comparasion (Then I only spent 0.88$).

.Net is a gold mine. How come you didn't get this one Elad since you have a Masters degree in MR? ;) Just kidding, I know you have a lot of better/good names so Im sure you are not worried.

Thanks for all the updates!

Not worried, and happy for the buyer.

I would never say something to try and get someone to invest into a niche, but I have seen that you have made investments across various niches and imo domainers are missing a good opportunity ignoring (MR).

Magic Leap has received a ridiculous amount of backing and have branded themselves (MR), everybody is excited to see their end product. Microsoft have branded themselves (MR) and FOV problems aside, majority of people who have tried the hololens can see the future potential in mixed reality.

VR is the starting point. AR is giving us a little teaser in overlaying digital images over the real world, but imo this will only be good for mobile AR because once MR headsets are here the tech will be a much further advancement on what AR headsets can achieve.

I would never hate on another niche. I am invested in VR, AR & MR.

There is a little buzz about Apple's future intention because Tim Cook said he see's augmented reality tech as more promising that VR.

I am not saying that Apple will go for the branding "MR", but I will be very surprised if they branded themselves "AR".

Research is key though so I would never expect anyone to invest into a niche without that. If people dig deep though I feel there is lots of evidence to support the likely adoption of mixed reality (MR)

I respect you're decision to invest into what you see the best investments. Nothing is ever 100% guaranteed in this life so we got to go with our gut feelings.

Good luck

:)

I have read the abbreviation MxR in some news articles. I believe this is a stronger preposition than "MR" because of the "Mister"-connection.

If I saw a domain name like mrcasino I would read it like "Mr. Casino" 101 times out of 100.

Just sayin'. I don't own any MxR names myself.

The abbreviation as already been chosen imo Onekey.

Companies have already started to use the MR abbreviation who are invested in mixed reality. Even microsoft hololens have named a few of their applications "MR" keyword.

The tech world always refer to Mixed reality with (mr).

Like I said research is key. I have some good keywords in MxR but I cannot see it happening unfortunately :)

You were the starter of this thread and you have got some very nice mixed reality names. You will do very well with them but not a lot of people search for "mr" tech word on the Internet. So as far as Internet searches go it won't confuse things too much.

People won't search MR Smith looking for mixed reality movies. They will search either the long tail or "Mr movies" or "Movies Mr".

The way people will search for the content will easily distinguish the difference between the two imo :)

MxR wont happen. It wont pass the radio test plus MR is already known by techies, media, etc, A part of VR AR MR.
Lately what's emereges is VR+AR=MR.

Cloud is cloud in the skies and also Cloud computing
Fog is fog in the sky and also fog computing
And i can carry on.
Btw, MR is also market research and being used with MR domains (ive seen a lot of those)

Good luck you all!

MxR has been trademarked twice by an upcoming giant in the Mixed Reality Business

MxR has been trademarked twice by an upcoming giant
in the Mixed Reality Business

its only a trademark..
Mxr is a much bigger risk in dn names then mr
Btw MR was already taken by canon so ML couldn't trademark it :)

One other thing. 9months ago VRcasino would look weird to me.. I wouldn't understand what it means and here im today wishing to have a domain like VRcasino.com

Our perception tricks us.

We got to know on the day they filed it! We communicated with them if they will be using MxR or MR for their marketing purpose! They were very clear that it's always MR.

I have some good keywords in MxR
Someone (not me) on here has 'many' good keywords in MxR
Others that post here hold a few each - but aren't putting their handup.

I have a 5L acronym in king: mxrfx (and a couple of others I'm still not convinced I will hold).

MXR is not a new abbreviation for 'mixed reality', it's been in use a decade or so - and probably sufficiently promulgated to be considered a fairly generic acronym for 'Mixed reality'. The USC has a mixed reality R&D unit called the 'MXR Lab'; there is a mixedrealitylab.org that has used MXR from the outset; there was (is?) a company called the MXR Corporation ; etc, etc

Many of us were not sure and took chances in MxR too!!

Only MixedRealityLabs was calling it MxR then, others not much!

Cheers!

Yes I totally get why people covered the mxr route, it was (and still could be) a semi sensible thing to do.

There is enough evidence to show that Microsoft and Magic Leap are going with the abbreviation "MR".

In my opinion these two companies are going to have a massive part to play in the public adoption of mixed reality.

I see it just the same as Virtual Reality comparison really. "VR" is king but people are trying to cover other potential abbreviations that they feel could come into play.

I am sure there will be a few companies who still might brand themselves MXR in the future. But got a feeling MR will be the king :)

exactly , MxR can be second best for cheap options lol .

and about magic leap and microsoft .. they are not alone anymore.

i know about tons of other new companies that embraced MR &Mixed Reality , some already picked MR , like MR4iot.com and some other secret ones :lookaround:
