More than likely it was his BIN Lander as is 90-95% of his listed names. :)
(however does not mean they did not pick up the phone and try to negotiate )
    Just guessing..

It's a numbers game, and Mike is playing with large numbers. Even with his astronomical asking prices, he's going to hit some home runs here and there.

*Hats off* to him for finding great success in doing something that he loves, and for inadvertently sharing his model with us. *Fingers crossed* for the rest of us.

if it is a company called Light Rock, they could have filed a trademark case and get the name for free? no?

If Mike Mann can prove that he registered the name before the company had their trademark and company filings, he would win in ICANN court all day

Most companies will just pony up the money to buy the domain though, because it takes a lot of time and sometimes even more money to acquire a domain through brute force then it is to just pay whatever amount the seller wants

    Post your opinion here
On short, why the company would be entitled to get the domain for free?

Always good to see Mike reporting such awesome sales. I checked light/rock in 'named as entire list' spreadsheet file which domain/market.com shares on their website but didn't find it. Maybe it's from his make offer list as per below Google results.

The end user is generally too cheap to afford ANYTHING and EVERYTHING.

Yes, I give him credit for Phone.com, SEO.com, Menu.com which are premium. Many others, sorry, pass. With the money he's made, you'd think he would upgrade his domains. I see Oxley as a prime example of this. Oxley's portfolio speaks for itself. When you see his list of domain names you can't help but think damn. Oxley's portfolio makes you feel like you've walked into a premium boutique, while Mann's portfolio feels like rummaging through a junkyard.

Mann is even hawking his stellar domain names JPMoran.com and GoogleMicrosoft.com using his lucky charm 888 pricing. Get real...

I think there is something wrong going on under his sales...maybe black money converting to white ? ... maybe ...
i am saying because of thats a crazy number for this normal domain.

    Crazy per you.

To the end buyer, that is an investment in brand or business name, may be?

    Domaining is subjective, period.

IMO TruckCrashLaw.com is actually worth 9k or more if you ask me. if you just look at the google PPC rates for Law, combined that with truck accidents, insurance, this domain value is clearly worth it.
For a company that specializes in truck insurance, or truck law, this is an easy buy since even if they get 2 actual business quotes from it, they probably made their domain's worth investment back.
PPC on truck crash, insurance will rank at around $50+ per click.
Also, in the states ____Law is usually treated as an official name, anyone with Truck Crash Law becomes the authority on it, and can easily advertise too, TRUCK CRASH LAW, hard to forget for truck drivers. IMO worth $20k for end user or in the right hands, easily $100k.

Asset valuations going up? Far from it. They are dying as no one has any money to buy. 2020 was the worst year since 2004 - since I have been involved. Maybe it recovers next year - I hope.

I would pay no more than $1k for boatsofrsale.com, and TRY to get 5K for it. If you told me that sold for %50k I would not believe it....but 400k...bizarre.

Also funny the how the majority of people wanting to make false accusations against the “ Millionaire” are the same ones trying to achieve the same Status .it’s alllllll bs UNTIL ITS UR SALE RIGHT!?

Btw...neither ones of my largest enduse sales have bothered to change NS on the names! Sometimes they just want to own the damn thing, without using it, yes it happens!
