I noticed that Discovery Communications had acquired the domain name AuctionInsider(.)com which was listed under “NameFind LLC” as the seller. NameFind, LLC is where the Marchex and Worldwide Media portfolios are housed. I checked whois history further to see if it was a Berkens domain or Marchex that it sold out of and DomainSource was the past owner.

I think this is very strong proof that GD acquired DomainSource.com’s domain portfolio or at least some of it! It appears whois changes happened about October-December (most about October 27, 2015) which is actually before Berkens portfolio (December)...

A quick look at DomainSource put around 3,000 domains in its portfolio that was public, and nearly half of that is now owned by GoDaddy’s NameFind LLC. The above is proof of over 1,000 domain names. There are potentially more than the 1,400 I mentioned that have been sold already, are under privacy protection or whois records have yet to update.

Another great article from Jamie Zoch at Dot Weekly. Thank you Jamie for your investigative work and commitment to providing interesting and valuable content. This article lists 1000+ domains owned by Andrew Sievright of Domain Source that were purchased by GoDaddy. This portfolio included nearly 100 LLLLs. GoDaddy is now offering these LLLLs for sale as premium domains, each with a minimum price of $15,000. GD currently has USCE is listed for $49,200. Other examples are ABGR IMSU NYYT OBGE STHR UCSE. I also checked several other domains that were part of the portfolio.

This shows GD values LLLLs. I suspect GD has more success selling LLLLs than other categories as well, even while priced 3x-4x higher on average. @Joe Styler, please share how GD prices domains such as these picked up from Domain Source, and any disclosable premium sales data that shows what types of names are selling.
