Managing Large Domain Name Portfolios

I have 3,000 domain names and keep them in an Excel 2003 Spreadsheet. I use the "List" function which is great because it allows me to treat the worksheet almost like a database. The sort and select for each column is great.

BUT....

I sure would like a more sophisticated system to manage the names, with whois lookup functions built in. I've seen some programs like this but where they fall down is that do not allow for categories, and additional user-defined columns. I keep columns liek "status" (my own code that means things to me), rating, price paid drop service found at, registrar....things like that.

But I have not looked around in six months. Maybe there is something new, or something I missed before. Can anyone tell me about any products (or online services) that will give me the power, convenience and flexibility I need?

I don't know it. And, I wouldn't know how to get it to interact with the whois registry database to get the current info.

Judging from the lack of responses here, it sure seems like it would be a tremendous opportunity for a programmer to create such a product. I wish I couild ship one up.

You will probably need something custom done. You can try putting a listing on http://scriptlance.com - see what price the programmers give you.

Just be weary - don't pay until you have the project done. If they want money up front, use escrow.

I would advice to get a domainpunch for it.

It can export in excel also.
