Good Evening,
Today I was just thinking about how to be successful in this business, but since I've been in the game only since January of this year, and my budget is in the hundreds at most. The people who either have been in the game since the 90's, or have thousands to spend, may easily live from domaining alone, but that's just not realistic to many of us. With the BenedictXVI domain publicity, and with new technology such as voip and genetic modification, I think that I've come up with a good stategy to make money in the domain game, even this late after all the "good names are gone". As large current events occur, and new technology is proposed and researched, it is very wise to register domain names pertaining to the upcoming technology, and current events, ect...
Some of the names that I've registered using this theory include:
AirplaneWifi.com
PlaneWifi.com
FlightWifi.com
GeneticallyModifiedSeeds.com
StemCellExperiments.com
My hope is that in the future, as these technologies increase, these domains will become desirable.com (An example was that somebody registered VOIP.com when it was just proposed). One mistake that people make, is that they register names that are copyrighted and trademarked, which leads to many unwanted legal troubles and hassles. So for example, instead of registering Vonage.net, it would have been wiser to register VoiceOverIp.com. One warning about this method, is that you ARE NOT going to become rich over night with this. As the names you register were available, it will take time for the technology to become widespread, and only then will you get full value for the name. One exception to this rule is current events, such as the new Pope or the London terror attacks, in which case, you would like to sell the name ASAP, before intrest in the event dies down, and the value drastically decreases. One last thing to remember, is that even if out of 50 domains, you sell a minimum of 1 name for full value, it will pay off the other names MANY times over.
What do you think about this?
If you do own any of these types of domains, what are some of them?
Thanks for reading,
Bob
